Condé Nast Traveler, an multi-awarded New York-based luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, recently asked 300,000 of its website readers to rate their favorite islands in the world.
The choices were all outside the United States.
Yesterday, March 10, it released the results through a video which has been viewed 7.7 million times as of 11:30 of March 11.
Three out of the islands included in the top five of this year's Readers' Choice Awards are found in the Philippines.
Rank 5: Cebu
Located in Central Visayas, the province has 150 smaller surrounding islands and islets, some of them are famous for their pristine beaches.
There's Malapascua, Sumilon, Poro, Carnaza, to name a few.
This one was in Bantayan Island.
Rank 2: Palawan
The largest province in the country in terms of total area of jurisdiction has around 1,780 islands and islets.
Amanpulo is favorite destination of celebrities from all over the world.
Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a World Heritage Site of UNESCO, has been hailed as one of the New7Wonders of Nature.
Tubbataha Reef Marine Park, also World Heritage Site of UNESCO, is famous for its remarkable coral reefs in the world.
Tourists also have rave reviews for Coron, El Nido, and other islands.
And the most-loved island in the world is Boracay!
Aside from it powdery sand, its night life has attracted a record-high of 1.7 million tourists last year, according to the Malay Municipal Tourism Office.
