There are so many beautiful places to visit to and cities to explore in Taiwan, like Taipei, its capital city.
The Taipei City Department of Information and Tourism (DIT) has collaborated with Filipino-Canadian YouTuber Mikey Bustos to promote travel and food in the city via a music video.
According to Mikey, they spent a few days in the entire city to shoot tourist attractions, food and shopping places to showcase tourist-friendly Taipei.
Dubbed as Fun Taipei 2018, the video also shows the social media star performing his original song, "My New Crushie."
In the video, Mikey is seen feasting on various kinds of dishes such as mango shaved ice, beef noodle, fried chicken—including the world-renowned stinky tofu.
Mikey tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “There’s so much [to explore].
“The night market is really unique there. I’ve been to night markets all over Asia, but Taipei is great.
“The street food is yummy. Stinky tofu they had, medyo mabaho but it tastes really good.
“I don’t wanna say this but it's really mabaho.”
He adds, “The hotels are awesome. There’s something about Taipei... they're kinda like modern, but they're hip, like they're kinda cool.
“For millennials, people who have millennial kids, they will love Taipei. And the Taipei people are really friendly, again lots of food places, restaurants.”
There are also tours that the YouTuber highly recommends.
Mikey narrates, “ I highly recommend the bus tour, the bus tour is really awesome.
“It sprays you with water so its nice and cool. And it takes you around Taipei.”
For those who love to shop, he says Taipei is just right for them, "Lots of shopping you can do there.
"They have this thing like goodbye sales or bye-bye sales, where the store’s closing and you can get things really really cheap. If you like shopping, Taipei is the place.”
DIT Deputy Commissioner Chen Yu-shin is also grateful to Filipino tourists who visited Taipei last year, which has reached a total number of 290,784 since Taiwan approved visa-free entry.
The tourism department has created a promotional theme for food-loving Filipino tourist—a 24-hour non-stop eating tour.
So, Pinoys, now is the best time to explore the many beautiful and attractive sides of Taipei.
