Buong pahayag ng ahensiya: “The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reminds Philippine passport holders to refrain from putting unauthorized stamps or markings on their Philippine ePassports.

“Such unauthorized changes to the ePassport not only renders the travel document invalid, but is also considered as tampering of an official document, which is punishable under the law.”

Mahigpit ding paalala ng DFA: “The ePassport should be submitted only to authorized officials or authorities for stamping.

“The Philippine ePassport is the property of the Republic of the Philippines and any alteration, addition, or destruction of its contents is strictly prohibited.”

FILIPINA TRAVELER RECOUNTS COSTLY PASSPORT MISTAKE

“Sabi nila, ‘Your passport is already canceled and considered tampered.’”

Pagbabahagi pa niya, “I didn’t know that, and I was a new traveler.

“Na-interrogate ako for three hours.”

“The act of putting stamps na unauthorized ng any authority, whether sa Philippines po or sa ibang bansa, can be considered tampering of the document,” sabi ni Atty. Raymond Aljon Cusipag, assistant director, DFA Passport Division.
