Cherry Pie Picache splits with partner

No doubt, Cherry Pie Picache has made it in showbiz. The actress is a frontrunner for first and second leads in every film genre: drama, comedy, fantasy, suspense. Producers want her. Award-giving bodies nominate her for almost every performances, whether these be in mainstream or indie films. Critics have compared her to Vilma Santos, the talented actress she most admires.

But where Cherry Pie's career is bright and rising, her love life seems to be going in the opposite direction. Indeed, she has just broken up with Gary Tria, her long-time partner and father to her son.

In a Startalk interview, Cherry Pie declared: "We're not together any more as partners. We're so much together as parents to my son. He's there every day for our child. We're really working as a family."

The multi-awarded actress did not give the reasons for the split up but emphasized that they parted on good terms. "It's sad. Sa nangyayari, mahirap siguro kung ipilit. Walang problema. Napag-usapan naming mabuti ang bagay-bagay."

According to Cherry Pie, their son Jose Anthony understands the situation. "We don't want to sugarcoat it. It's okay with him because he's so full of love. Yun naman importante e. Kahit ganu'n ang sitwasyon, we're a family."

Cherry Pie has just appeared in Twilight Dancers, which was exhibited at the Toronto International Film Festival last September. Moviegoers can expect to see her in Kaleldo, an independent film, and the upcoming Star Cinema film Wag Kang Lilingon. She will can also be seen regularly on GMA-7's newest fantaserye Atlantika.
