A woman of the world, according to marie claire's November issue, is someone who has inspired others by excelling in her respective field. When actress-model Angel Aquino learned the news that she was the sole representative of women for the field of entertainment, she was stunned—and grateful as well.
“That was one wonderful moment of my life,” Angel gushes.
In an interview with PEP last November 28 at SM Megamall, she recalls: “Sobrang hindi ko in-expect. When I got a call from Myrza [Sison—editor-in-chief of Summit Media’s marie claire], I was so surprised and I told her: ‘You made my day.’ And she texted me back: ‘No, you made my day.’”
Admittedly, Angel at first thought the whole thing wasn’t a big deal, even if she was flattered by the attention. But during the awarding ceremony held last October 27 at the Ayala Museum, her perspective changed. “I didn’t feel the weight of the award until I saw all the other awardees, until that night when I was given the award. I was so overwhelmed.”
She says: “Noong time na yun, pagpasok ko pa lang, umiiyak na ko. [Ang] feeling ko, all the good things I’ve done are finally being recognized and finally being noticed.”
“I believe that this is the first time that they awarded someone from the showbiz industry and I’m so grateful—sobra. It was a blessing for me,” ends a grateful Angel.
