Urbandub sings for the 'Future'

Fresh from his win at the 13th NU Rock Awards, Urbandub's frontman Gabby Alipe led his band in singing the theme song of this year's Music Summit for AIDS, a disease known as the "silent killer." Urbandub and Dicta License collaborated for the event's theme song entitled "Future."

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Gabby how this concert is meant to help raise awareness about HIV-AIDS. "Yung goal namin kahit is to reach [kahit] one person, maintindihan niya yung sinasabi namin, that's enough to promote awareness. Sa dami ng tao dito, maraming magti-think twice."

Gabby also shared his thoughts on how key institutions can work together to combat AIDS. "Dapat pati yung church. They should work together e. Yung government, they're doing their part naman e. They're promoting safe sex. Pero siyempre, they follow yung church na rule di ba? Yun ang nagka-clash ngayon. Sana magkaintindihan silang dalawa."

Gabby was glad to win as Vocalist of the Year in the NU Rock Awards held last December 1 at the Manila World Trade Center. "Yung pangalan ko, kasama na sa lahat yun, pati na sa mga kabanda ko. Maganda din for Urbandub."

For fans of the band Urbandub, he promises "more music, tsaka isa pang bagong album. Gagawin pa lang namin yun. Hopefully pag-uwi namin [sa Cebu], makakasimula na kami."
