Estranged couple Ace Espinosa and Maricel Morales were awkward sa isa't isa nang magkatagpo sa birthday party ng anak nila recently. The former beauty queen reportedly showed up in the party escorted by her current boyfriend, who was dressed as Zorro.
In an S-Files taped interview last December 10, Ace said, "Pagdating ko, costume party, si Zorro.
Ace did not hide the fact that he was offended by the presence of Maricel's boyfriend.
Show me some respect," said Ace.
The behavior of Maricel at her son's birthday party reportedly disappointed her own family as well. There were reports that she was slapped by her sister because of this.
The former action star said, "Yung sampal na ‘yan, hindi ko nakita ‘yan. Kinausap yata nung mga kapatid niya yung lalake, I heard. Umalis na ako e. Nandoon na lahat ng mga kapatid niya. Nag-usap-usap [sila]."
He then added, "Kinausap ko yung lalake. Usapang lalake yun."
Ace also revealed that it was his son who introduced him to Maricel's boyfriend.
Right now, Ace has already filed an annulment case against Maricel and is just waiting for the court's decision.
"It's about time for us to move on," he said.
Maricel and Ace were both products of the defunct TV Show That's Entertainment.
Maricel won the 1995 Mutya ng Pilipinas title. Her last regular TV show was the defunct GMA-7 fantaserye Etheria, where she played the role of Ora.
Ace, on the other hand, became a popular action star during the mid-‘90s. He played antagonist to Janno Gibbs in Pedro Penduko II.
The two got married and eventually parted ways in 2004.
