Yeng Constantino named first PDA Grand Star Dreamer

Yeng Constantino, the first Philippine Dream Academy grand winner, gets a condominium unit, a car, a small business, and a cash prize of P1,000,000.

“Maraming salamat po,” cries Josephine “Yeng” Constantino after being proclaimed as the first Pinoy Dream Academy grand star dreamer at the Araneta Coliseum. “Hindi niyo po alam kung gaano niyo pinasaya ang aking pamilya.”

The 18-year-old singer/composer from Rizal received a total of 697,648 text and online votes (37.32%) from all over the world.

Visayan rocker Jay-R Siaboc came in second with 612,767 votes (32.77%).

Pampangueño balladeer Ronnie Liang bagged the third spot with 558,923 votes (29.90%).

The other scholars who made it in the Headmaster's Honor List of 6 were Panky Trinidad, Irish Fullerton, and Chad Peralta.

Yeng, being the overall winner, gets a condominium unit, a car, a small business, and a whopping cash prize of P1,000,000.

The young rising star already has several songs dominating the airwaves. Her current single, “Hawak Kamay,” was used as the theme for Star Cinema’s MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival) entry, Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo, which stars Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo.
