Bearwin Meily stars in a street magic special

Bearwin Meily will do a David-Blaine street magic special to be shot in USA and Asia

Comedian-magician Bearwin Meily reveals that he is currently working on an independent production which he will produce, direct, and star in. Expectedly, this project is all about street magic.

Bearwin, speaking during the premiere night of Shake, Rattle & Roll 8, December 19, at SM Megamall Cinema 10, adds: "TV special siya. Hopefully, may part one and part two. I think every Sunday ‘yan ipapalabas if ever ma-close namin [‘yung deal] with GMA-7.

The mainstay of Lagot Ka Isusumbong Kita also reveals to PEP how he performs street magic, "Research ‘yan kung papaano natutunan nina David Blaine at Craig Angel. Ganu'n [ko] din inaral."

He continues, "Let's say, meron akong wine bottle or any bottle, tapos may cellphone ka. Mahirap ‘yun."

Bearwin says that his project will take a month to shoot in the U.S., so that means he will spend Christmas and New Year there.

"Kasama ko wife ko tsaka anak ko. Nag-advance taping na kami dun [Lagot Ka Isusumbong Kita]. Marami ding magki-Christmas break [kaya] kasado na," he said.

The comedian mentions that this project has nothing to do with his defunct show, Naks, which he co-hosted with Benjie Paras on GMA-7.

Siyempre, bago lahat ‘to. Pati ‘yung spots sa Asia at sa U.S., makikita nila," says Bearwin.

"Eto, something [that] Pinoy will be proud of.

Bearwin tells PEP the various reactions of foreigners to his kind of magic.

"Sobra silang mag-react.

He cites these examples: "Yung age nila, naglalaro sa 15-18. Apat silang teenagers, nasa Star Cruise kami na ship. Dun kami sa balcony nung cruise. Minadyikan ko sila. Talagang buwang na buwang silang apat! ‘Yung ginawa kong ‘yon, very easy.

Akala nila may power ako! Nakakatuwa."

Bearwin Meilly is in demand these days. He appears in the "13th Floor" episode of the Regal horror franchise, Shake Rattle and Roll. He is also in Tatlong Baraha, where he plays the important role of narrator (ala Lola Basyang), the character who begins and ends the story. In the latter, he again performs magic, but with cards/baraha, which are used to conjure the Lapid family: Lito, Mark, and Maynard.
