Actress-singer-TV host Vina Morales was in a bubbly state when she faced the entertainment press yesterday, January 15, for the pocket interview of the four of the main cast of ABS-CBN's soap opera Maria Flordeluna. Aside from Vina, the other cast members present were Albert Martinez, John Estrada, and Eula Valdes.
Vina surprised everyone when she declared that she is ready for motherhood—even out of wedlock!
"Yes, I'm ready to be a mom! Kung this year mangyayari ‘yon, why not? Pero siyempre, mas okay pa rin kung may basbas ng simbahan. Pero kung talagang darating 'yon, kung magkaka-baby ako, handang-handa na ako," said Vina smiling.
Does this mean that she and her non-showbiz beau are already planning to get married? Or just to have a baby?
Vina heartily laughed and quipped, "Hindi pa naman. Pero if it's my destiny... You know, I strongly believe in destinies. Sino ba naman ang mag-aakala na nandito ako? Samantalang noon, nakatira ako sa liblib na lugar sa Cebu, na halos 30 minutes ang biyahe para makapunta ng bayan. If it is your destiny, mangyayari 'yon. And in God's time, darating 'yon. Basta kung magkaka-baby ako, kahit hindi pa ako kasal, very much welcome 'yon."
The singer-actress, who will turn 32 years old on October 17, also admitted that she has been saving in case she decides to settle down anytime soon.
"Kaya nga 'pag may mga raket, I save as much as I can. Kaya ngayon, masasabi kong handang-handa na ako talagang mag-asawa. Yung puwede nang kahit hindi masyadong active sa showbiz, I can say that my future family can live comfortably. Pero lahat 'yan, in God's time. Mangyayari 'pag ginusto na Niya," said Vina.
In ABS-CBN primetime soap Maria Flordeluna, Vina will play Elvira, the first wife of Leo Alicante (Albert Martinez). She will eventually die in the story.
"Pero marami akong guest appearances dito, kasi may series of flashbacks," added the ASAP co-host.
ABS-CBN has not yet announced any airing date for Maria Flordeluna, but Vina said, "Baka ito ang ipapalit sa Maging Sino Ka Man, matatapos na kasi 'yon. Pero I'm not really sure, ha?"
Meanwhile, Vina also excitedly announced that her successful concert, Showgirl, will have a repeat at the Araneta Coliseum on February 24.
"And after that, magso-show din kami sa Waterfront Hotel in Cebu. Marami kasing Cebuano ang gustung-gustong mapanood yung show. Then we will embark on an international tour. Ang dami rin kasing nagre-request na mga kababayan natin sa ibang bansa na mapanood nila 'yung Showgirl, probably because of the Kama Sutra dance!" Vina laughed.
"Nu'ng una talaga, parang hindi ko makakaya 'yon [Kama Sutra dance]! Ngayon, baka mas daring ang gagawin namin," she added.
