Aleck Bovick and live-in-partner Carlo Maceda welcomed their baby boy to this world last January 17, at 5:41 in the afternoon, at the UERM hospital in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
"Sobrang saya," says the new mom, sexy star Aleck Bovick, in an interview with The Buzz. "Hindi ko ma-explain e. Anak ko ba ‘to?"
The new dad, sexy actor Carlo Maceda, was just as enthusiastic. "Oh my God!" he exclaims. "I'm a dad. I'm so happy!"
The couple's firstborn, Leonne Lancelot, weighed 8.7 lbs.
"'Yong Leonne is dedicated to my mom kasi my mom is Leonor," explains Carlo. "She's been away for so long, so sabi ko ‘Ma, I dedicate this child to you.' We got it from her name so naging Leonne. ‘Yong Lancelot, si Aleck yong may gusto..."
The baby had a minor complication. "Yellow ‘yong skin niya kaya ngayon nasa light siya para mag-ano 'yong blood niya—mag-circulate ng tama para maging pula siya. Sa ngayon, medyo okay naman siya," details Aleck.
The first-time parents express how the baby has changed their lives.
"Sabi ko ‘Dad, hawakan mo yong bata.' ‘Hindi, madumi ako.' ‘Hawakan mo yong bata.' ‘Hindi, mahaba yong kuko ko.' Hindi siya natutulog, inaabangan niya yong hinga nung bata," she narrates.
"'Yong priorities ko, instead of going to basketball, going home parati ‘tsaka planning for the future yong mga investment... Mas tutok na ako ngayon. Hindi na ko lax sa mga risk sa negosyo, pagnagba-buy-and-sell. Maraming pagbabago," admits Carlo.
The former Pinoy Big Brother celebrity housemate reveals her hope and dreams for her son. "'Yong makatapos ng pag-aaral kasi ‘yon iyong hindi matuto sa akin kasi second year high school lang natapos ko. Gusto ko magkaroon siya ng magandang buhay. Ako ginive-up ko ‘yong pag-aaral ko para sa kung anu-ano. Ngayon na-realize ko, hindi pala, mali pala. 'Lahat ng mga kailangan mo, ibibigay namin... Sobrang thankful kami na ibinigay ka sa amin. Angel ka namin,'" says Aleck.
Even if Carlo, Aleck, and baby Lancelot are now the picture of a happy family, the couple say getting married is not their priority at this time.
"Nagtatanong siya sa akin, ‘Will you marry me?' Ang sabi ko ‘Wag na muna nating pag-usapan yong taon o kailanman, importante yong anak namin,'" she says.
Sa panig ni Carlo, ito ang paliwanag niya sa kanilang di muna pagpapakasal. "Sa akin naman kasi, hindi naman ayaw namin. We want to," diin niya. "We want it to be in a good time when my mom is here already. We want to have milestones na ‘Eto malaki na tong negosyo.' Work the business. Pati ‘yong gusto niyang wedding, bonggang bonggang bongga e, so I said I'll give you that. Just give me time."
