"I'm sorry that people were hurt by this foolish incident and I hope that we can all learn from this and hopefully move on," says Borgy Manotoc.

Commercial model and TV host Martin "Borgy" Manotoc shows himself yesterday, April 11, in Taguig Police Station to file his statement about the alleged bar fight with Carlo Pardo de Tavera, the grandson of Social Welfare Secretary Mita Pardo de Tavera, early Tuesday morning at the Embassy Bar.

Contrary to what Carlo said in his interviews, Borgy stated that it was Carlo who approached him first.

"Well, he first asked me whether I was Borgy. And I was a bit confused because he was a stranger. So I said, ‘Sometimes I am, sometimes I am not,' kind of jokingly," narrated Borgy in his interview with GMA-7's late night newscast Saksi.

After this, according to Borgy, they had an exchange of words, which reportedly ended with exchange of blows. Carlo was confined at the Makati Medical Center for injuries.

Borgy defended, "He was mocking me and he began pushing and shoving and I had to defend myself. I said in my statement that he picked up a chair and swung it to the nearby person."

Earlier reports said that the fight started when Carlo asked for the time from a woman who happened to be Ornusa Cadness, Borgy's girlfriend. Borgy allegedly then told Carlo not to talk to his girlfriend. The two men later argued, which reportedly ended with Carlo and his friends being beaten up by Borgy and four others.

Carlo's camp said that they are still considering filing charges against Borgy. Borgy, on the other hand, said that he has no plans of filing charges and is even open to talk with Carlo's family.

Borgy also publicly apologized to the people who got involved in this incident. "I'm sorry that people were hurt by this foolish incident and I hope that we can all learn from this and hopefully move on," said Borgy.

Meanwhile, the mother of Carlo, Mara Pardo de Tavera, also came with their lawyer at Taguig PNP station yesterday. She said she was pleased that Borgy has finally submitted himself for an investigation.

Mara said, "I was told by the mother [Ilocos Norte Representative Imee Marcos] na sinabihan siya [Borgy] to come here. I was also told that it was her car that brought him here, with her plate number, so I'm glad to hear that."

At press time, the Taguig police is still investigating the case.
