Barbie Almalbis begs off from writing campaign song for father-in-law

Although Barbie Almalbis is also a composer, she declined from writing the campaign song of her father-in-law, senatorial candidate Gringo Honasan.

Radiantly beautiful in pregnancy ang former lead singer of the disbanded Barbie's Cradle band na si Barbie Almalbis, during the press con na ibinigay ni Mother Lily Monteverde last night, May 2, for former Senator Gringo Honasan. Honasan is running as an independent candidate in the May 14 elections.

Seventh months na ang ipinagbubuntis ni Barbie, and she is scheduled to give birth this July. Si Senator Gringo na rin ang nagbunyag na babae ang ipapanganak ng kanyang daughter-in-law at papangalanan nila itong Noah.

Barbie is Martin Honasan's wife. Martin, a painter, is Gringo's second son. Nagkakilala sila, however, not in a painting exhibition nor in a concert, but in a religious gathering, as both practice the same Christian religion.

After the general question-and-answer portion last night na ginawa sa Imperial Palace Suites ni Mother Lily, nakausap namin si Barbie and asked her kung bakit hindi siya ang gumawa ng campaign song for her father-in-law.

The thought came daw when her father-in-law decided to run again. Barbie, after all, is also a composer.

"Kaso, ang feeling ko, ibang style ang dapat gawin for the campaign song of my father-in-law," sabi ni Barbie. "The planned campaign song is not in my line, parang mas bagay sa grupong Rocksteddy. So we asked them if they can compose one for my father-in-law and they agreed naman."

Magkaibigan sina Teddy Corpus, ang lead singer ng Rocksteddy, at si Barbie noon pa lang. Hindi na rin naki-jam sa kanta ng Rocksteddy si Barbie.
