Lea Salonga's son in "Miss Saigon" tries his luck in Philippine showbiz

Jordan Aguilar is part of ABS-CBN's Star Magic Batch 15.

A full-blooded Pinoy boy living in London ang gumanap na anak ni Lea Salonga sa original run ng musical Miss Saigon sa Theater Royal sa London -- si Jordan Aguilar. He is now part of the Star Magic Batch 15 of ABS-CBN.

Hindi lang 'yon ang kanyang achievement while in London. At an early age, nakalabas na rin siya sa mga TV shows and movies doon and was even nominated at the Annual Children's Award as Best Child Actor for the London re-staging of The King And I. Nakakapagsulat na rin siya ng kanta at three years of age and he dreams of becoming a versatile actor and recording artist like his idol Sam Milby.

Early this year, umuwi si Jordan at ang kanyang ina para sumubok makapasok sa showbiz.

Bagamat Filipino, hindi sanay sa lutong-Pinoy si Jordan. He had to adjust his taste buds and also his accent, which has a hard twang like the common Britishers'.

"Nahirapan po ako na maintindihan agad ang mga nakikipag-usap sa akin. I can understand but with a different way of speaking, it was hard to comprehend at first," paliwanag ni Jordan sa press launch na ibinigay for their Star Magic batch last rainy Tuesday night.

Mabilis namang natuto si Jordan at ngayon, kung may accent pa rin, he can converse readily in Tagalog.

He has no recollection of working with Lea Salonga dahil bata pa nga siya noon and he wouldn't take too much for granted daw just because he was onstage with the great Filipina artist. Ang natatandaan niya lang, she was a great lady on stage, singing great songs in a very good voice.
