A previously unseen footage interview of Angel Locsin's mother finally saw the light of day yesterday, August 11, on Startalk.
The video was taken last year on Angel's birthday. She celebrated with a party for a foundation giving free eye check-up, and a surprise gathering given by her fans.
Angel and her mother Emma Colmenares had a warm reunion. The cameras of the now-defunct GMA-7 showbiz talk show S-Files caught them hugging each other tightly, unmindful of all the spectators present at the party.
"Hindi ko akalain na magka-anak ako ng ganyan," said Angel's mother when she gave an interview to S-Files.
"Dati nung maliit siya, mahilig siya pag bumibisita ako, mahilig siyang mag-entertain," she recalled. "Habang naghihintay iyong [guest] sinasayawan niya, kinakantahan niya. Pinapanood ko siya. Masaya ako sa nakikita ko."
"Sana mas tumagal pa nang tumatagal yung tagumpay mo. Ikaw pa rin iyong dating si Angel," wished Mrs. Colmenares.
But the interview was shelved indefinitely, following Angel's request not to air it.
The reason behind Angel's appeal is not clear up to this day since she never gave any concrete reason to the show's staff.
Angel's family background, particularly details on her true relationship with her mother, continues to mystify a lot of people, including showbiz insiders.
