Rufa Mae Quinto slighted by Erik Santos's apparent snub during his concert

Despite feeling upset, sexy comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto said that she already forgave ex-boyfriend, Erik Santos, for failing to acknowledge her during his concert last October 19 at the Araneta Coliseum. "Hindi ko naman moment actually yong gabing yon, kanya yon, e. I went there to watch him. Dapat hindi ko na ini-expect na kahit na anong greeting," muses Rufa Mae.

It's business as usual for Rufa Mae Quinto.

Still smarting from the cold treatment she received from ex-boyfriend Erik Santos, the sexy comedienne immediately buckled down to work to promote her latest movie under Octoarts Films, Pasukob, together with Ai-Ai de las Alas.

The cast of the film had a press conference yesterday, October 24, at Guilly's restaurant in Quezon City.

"Hindi naman nag-breakdown," Rufa Mae clarified with a grin. She was pertaining to the reports that she cried unabashedly in her seat after Erik failed to acknowledge her during his major concert held last Friday, October 19, at the Araneta Coliseum.

But while Rufa Mae downplayed her intense reaction, she was quite upfront in saying that she was terribly hurt with Erik's "memory lapse" that evening.

"Naiyak ako siyempre," said Rufa Mae over a cup of coffee. "That time kasi parang na-shock ako, sinadya ba? Pero siguro bilang isang babaeng nakarelasyon mo, parang na-shock lang ako, bakit ni hindi mo ako nabanggit."

Rufa Mae recounted that she was feeling tired from a taping that day (and even skipped dinner) but still decided to attend Erik's special moment to show support, both as a good friend and a former lover. In the end, she honestly admitted asking herself if she made the right decision to show up.

"Parang hindi ko alam kung tama o mali na dumating ako doon. Pero sinabi naman nila na tama lang naman daw. Sa sarili ko rin, tingin ko tama naman na pumunta ako kahit hindi niya nabanggit ‘yong name ko."

Trying to make sense of the incident, Rufa Mae rationalized: "Hindi ko naman moment actually 'yong gabing 'yon, kanya [Erik] 'yon, e. I went there to watch him. Dapat hindi ko na ini-expect na kahit na anong greeting."

Erik has reportedly made amends with his former girlfriend, explaining that it was an honest mistake and he simply forgot to mention her name during the customary "thank you" segment of the show.

Many, however, dubbed Erik's excuse as "lame," given that Erik's special guest that evening, Ai-Ai de las Alas, teasingly mentioned Rufa Mae's name a couple of times while at the same time impersonating the sexy comedienne.

"Imposible naman na hindi niya [Erik] alam na nandoon ka at hindi na din naman siguro kailangan isulat ‘yon sa script," said one reporter to Rufa Mae.

NO FEUD WITH KRIS. With her new TV show with Paolo Bediones, Whammy! Push Your Luck going head-to-head with Kris Aquino's Deal or No Deal, it is inevitable for some to pit the two hosts against each other.

"Huwag naman po," pleaded P-chi[Rufa Mae's nickname] when the subject was brought up. "Maganda ang ratings ng Whammy, pero palit-palitan naman. I don't think mati-threaten si Kris sa akin."

Refusing to play up to the rumors, she insisted that Kris is a good friend for whom she has a lot of respect.

"Pero nagkita kami after ng concert ni Josh Groban," revealed Peachy, who watched Groban's concert together with Erik Santos, Ogie Alcasid, Michael V, and Gretchen Barretto.

"Kumain kami sa Peninsula, sakto nandoon siya kasama si James [Yap, Kris's husband]. Nagbatian kami. Okay naman, we didn't talk about Whammy."

NOT FOND OF MARIAN? Rufa Mae is included in Regal Entertainment's 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Desperadas. Lately, there were some unconfirmed reports saying that she's not particularly fond of rising young actress and co-star Marian Rivera.

"Okay kami ni Marian," quipped Peachy before adding, "hindi lang kami ganun ka-close, kasi si Ruffa [Gutierrez] kaibigan ko talaga, si Iza [Calzado] kaibigan din kami. Kumbaga, siya [Marian] yong bago sa aming apat, so nung umpisa parang hindi kami close."

Lack of scenes together also prohibited both Rufa Mae and Marian to really strike up a friendship.

"Walang chance para magkasama-sama until nitong huli nung nag-8 Waves kami. Biruin mo, naka-two piece kami hanggang alas-dos ng madaling-araw!" laughed Rufa Mae.

"So magmula no'n, naging close kami. Nung una lang talaga kasi siyempre first movie niya yata ito, and bihira ko naman siya makasama. So nung umpisa talaga, ‘pag nagkikita kami, hi and hello lang. Pero okay naman kami," Rufa Mae said in closing.
