Redgie Acuña-Magno, the program manager of GMA-7, celebrated her natal day last Wednesday night, January 9, with close family and friends in the industry at the penthouse of the Imperial Palace Hotel in Quezon City.
It was supposedly just a small gathering among the Wednesday Club members, a group of TV and film executives and members of the press, but more than a handful of celebrities and showbiz's important people trooped to the birthday bash of Ms. Redgie.
The party's early birds were Mother Lily Monteverde and daughter Roselle Monteverde, talent managers Manny Valera and Douglas Quijano, director Joel Lamangan, YES! and PEP Editor-in-Chief Jo-Ann Maglipon, YES! Associate Editor Anna Pingol, TAPE Inc.'s Malou Choa-Fagar, and young actor Tyrone Perez.
Food was in abundance as Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla sent lechons for the party. Annabelle Rama also sent two roasted pigs.
Celebrity well-wishers who dropped by included recent Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actor Jinggoy Estrada; Annabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez; Tirso Cruz III with his wife Lynn and their children; Gina Alajar, Ricky Davao, Gelli de Belen, Ryan Yllana, Alfred Vargas, Antonio Aquitana, Sugar Mercado. Others who caught up at the peak of the party were Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres, Joey Marquez, Kempee de Leon, Teri Onor, Paolo Paraiso, Jeremy Marquez, Marco Alcaraz, and Ehra Madrigal.
Also in attendance were some Kapuso network executives led by Senior Vice-President for Entertainment Wilma Galvante. Her song number for the birthday girl was highly anticipated by everyone. She rendered two songs, "The Nearness of You" and "Two For the Road," which were both well-applauded.
"Masaya. I'm with my true friends," Redgie said when asked how she felt about being 46 years old. The single mom danced through the morning with her three children—Albert, Regine, and Angelo—with the two-man band playing some infectious dance beats.
