The brothers Raphael and Renz Marion, who both look more mature since their father Rudy Fernandez passed away, talked about how they carried on for the past forty days. Startalk's Butch Francisco interviewed the brothers in the Fernandez household at White Plains, Quezon City.
"Mas gumaan ba o ganoon pa din since June 7?" Butch asked.
Renz answered, "Hindi ko masasabi Butch, e. Parang iba-iba, e. Minsan parang okey na, ‘tapos hindi after a few hours. So, hindi ko masasabi."
Butch then related to the brothers how Lorna told him that she was "not so good but not so bad." For him, there was still emptiness in Lorna. Is it the same with the brothers?
Raphael said, "Alanganin. Kumbaga, unstable, hindi sigurado."
How about their studies, is it affected?
"Ok naman," Renz said. "At least nakakahabol na. Mas maganda yung nakakapag-aral ako ng mabuti...."
Have they fixed their dad's things?
"Hindi pa namin siya inaayos," revealed Raphael. "Hindi pa namin ginagalaw. Majority ng gamit niya nandoon pa rin."
How does it feel now that Raphael is the head of the family?
"Hindi. Si Papa pa rin," Raphael said.
For Raphael, moving on is a collaborated effort for the family.
"Sinusuportahan namin siya [Lorna] sa mga bagay, sa mga decisions niya. Sinasamahan namin siya ‘tapos nagdadasal at kumakain ng magkasama. Basta magkasama kami, feeling ko sapat na iyon."
The brothers think that their mom is still not ready to go back to work. Butch asked, if ever the day comes that Lorna should go back to work, will they advise her to do so or not?
Renz said, "huwag muna. Kung kailan siya handang-handa na, e, doon na ituloy. Sa ngayon, e, pahinga na muna siya."
Raphael agreed by saying, "Kasi ‘pag pinilt mo, e, magkaka-repercussions ‘yan, e. Yung stress, ganoon. May medical repercussions. Puwede siyang magkasakit dahil sa stress at tension."
