It looks like Sebastian Duterte is just like his father, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, when it comes to his admiration towards Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
In his Facebook post last Sunday afternoon, April 24, Sebastian shared how he unexpectedly bumped into Miriam hours before the last leg of Pilipinas Debates 2016 took place in Dagupan City.
Sebastian admitted that he was totally “starstruck” when he saw Miriam, and even more so when she initiated to have their picture taken together.
Duterte's son wrote, “Hello Senator MDS. I feel so lucky that i had the chance to have a picture with you.
“To my surprise, you even went over to me when my friend asked for a photo.
“I was so captivated by your presence that I did not know what to do.
“When you grabbed my arm during the picture, my heart just smiled.”
Apparently, Sebastian admires Miriam’s bravery and passion for public service.
Sebastian related, “Memories flashed in my mind of you reprimanding someone in a senate hearing.
“You are sweet and inspiring.
“I never easily get starstruck but you had me at mere sight.
“I truly admire you because I believe that you are a real contributor to our country.
“We are hours away from the debate and I wish you all the best.”
He added, “P.S. Bring the best out of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, give him the fight of a lifetime! -Love Baste”
DUTERTE, MIRIAM FACE-OFF. To recall, Duterte has a similar encounter with Miriam during their face-off at the final presidential debate, which was held at PHINMA University of Pangasinan, in Dagupan City, last Sunday night, April 24.
Duterte was tasked to throw a question towards Miriam, but he begged off, claiming that he couldn’t ask anything of a woman worthy to become the president of the Philippines.
Duterte said, "Ma’am Miriam, what can I ask of you? I am facing a woman worthy to become the President of the Republic of the Philippines.
"It is even an insult to the intellect of everybody to be asking a learned and experienced human being in this planet."
Miriam, for her part, simply smiled in response to his statement.
