Sharon Cuneta records her first kiddie-songs album

Pagkatapos ng successful celebration ni Sharon Cuneta ng kanyang 30th anniversary concert last Friday, August 8, sa Araneta Coliseum, tinapos na rin niya ang kanyang first children's album, a first in Philippine music industry, sa SonyBMG.

Ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang unang nakaalam ng tungkol sa album sa pamamagitan ng text na ipinadala ng Megastar kagabi, August 14.

Sinabi niya sa PEP ang reason kung bakit siya na-inspire na gumawa ng kauna-unahang local children's album.

"I have two young children whom I love watching as they sing along and dance to their children's CDs," sabi ni Sharon sa text na ipinadala niya sa amin. "Also, I learned that in school, they are taught both English and Tagalog children's and folk songs.

"So, Kiko [Sen. Francis Pangilinan, her husband] and I , while watching them, just thought it would be great to do this album while they are young pa and I can still appreciate this collection. It is also for all my fans who have grown up with me and who are also mommies and daddies now.

"Another important goal for me is to be able to share our kind of music with Pinoy children all over the world who didn't grow up here and, therefore, know so little of our very own folk songs, and who will also hopefully appreciate the numbers in English.

"We are all excited over this, a first in the Philippine music industry and I am so proud and excited. And I again wish to thank my Sony BMG family for making this dream come true and for getting excited over it as well."

Tinanong ng PEP si Sharon kung ano ang title ng kanyang children's album.

"Wala pa," sagot niya. "Hindi pa kami nakapipili sa 18-track listing namin."

Hindi pa rin sigurado ang Megastar kung kailan ilu-launch ang kanyang children's album.
