After recently introducing the first eight "participantes," Pinoy Fear Factor now reveals the
last batch of the 12 contenders of this reality show. They are Manuel Chua Jr., Bernabe "RJ"
Calipus Jr., Jose Sarasola, and Savannah Lamsen.
Manuel Chua Jr., 27, is a struggling businessman and father to his four-year-old daughter. He inherited his business, an appliance store, from his father. This guy from Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, works hard to keep his business running. It used to have 36 branches all over Luzon but now has only three branches left.
RJ Calipus Jr. is a 20-year-old kargador from Parola in Tondo, Manila. He never had a chance to meet his biological parents—Filipino mother and French father—since his mother gave him up for adoption because she could no longer support him. At 17, he already had a daughter and just a few months ago, his live-in partner gave birth to their second child. RJ wanted to provide all the needs of his family, and so he joined Pinoy Fear Factor, which also became his passport to travel abroad.
Aspiring chef Jose Sarasola may have an advantage over other "participantes" in adapting to the weather in Argentina. This 22-year-old student has already traveled to some of the world's seven continents. Now, will his social status help him survive the challenges that Pinoy Fear Factor has prepared for him?
The sexy ledge dancer Savannah Lamsen completes the group of 12 "participantes" of Pinoy Fear Factor. This 23-year-old lady admits that she once lived an easy life before her parents broke up. After this, Savannah had to earn her own money to help her family. She even posed for a sexy magazine once, hoping that the exposure would be her ticket to showbizlandia. Now, her goal is to overcome all the tests in Pinoy Fear Factor so that she can give her parents some capital for business, and perhaps even reunite them.
These four aspirants will join the other eight "participantes" to compete for the "El Ultimo Participante" title.
They all have to form their own strategies to defeat their contenders in each challenge. According to Direk Laurenti Dyogi, business unit head for Pinoy Fear Factor, the stunts in this reality show are mostly psychological.
"Hindi talaga nila alam [ang challeges]. 'Pag sinabi na sa kanila ni Ryan [Agoncillo, host], ‘Ito yung hamon na haharapin niyo today,' that's the only time na malalaman nila kung anong gagawin nila sa araw na yun. So, that itself is already a psychological test."
When asked about the kind of tests they have
prepared for the "participantes," Pinoy
Fear Factor hostRyan Agoncillo said, "It's not as simple as ‘puwede
na yan.' Matatakot na sila, hindi. Ito talagang duduluhin yung pananakot
sa 'yo."
Find out how these "participantes" pass the tests in Pinoy
Fear Factor, starting November 10 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.
