Philippines bags eight nominations in Asian TV Awards 2008

Michael V and Ogie Alcasid were cited as Best Comedy Actor for their performances in GMA-7 gag show Bubble Gang in this year's Asian TV Awards.

Now on its 13th year, ang Asian TV Awards 2008 aygaganapin sa Hotel InterContinental, Middle Road, Singapore sa December 11.

For the record, Michael V. has won the Best ComedyPerformance by an Actor award thrice in a row (2004, 2005, at 2006) attaun-taon ay nominado siya sa naturang kategorya. There was a time hebested Comedy King Dolphy (John En Shirley) for the trophy.

In 2004, GMA-7 was voted Terrestrial Broadcaster ofthe Year, beating other giant networks in the Asia-Pacific region, thus makingit the only Philippine TV network that has won the distinction so far. Last year,ABS-CBN was nominated for the same category but lost to MediaCorp TV SingaporePte Ltd.
