La Lola and Shake, Rattle and Roll X star JC de Vera fondly describes fellow Kapuso Marky Cielo as a genuine person inside and out.
Pero pag sinabing mabait si Marky, ‘yong sinasakop ng word na ‘yon lahat ‘yon," JC told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last night, December 9, at the press conference of Shake, Rattle and Roll X, Regal Entertainment's official entry to the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival, held at the Imperial Palace Suites in Quezon City.
Marky passed away last Sunday, December 7, though the reason behind his death remains a mystery.
JC and Marky never had the chance to develop a strong friendship since their respective career paths are not exactly heading towards the same direction. They worked together on few separate occasions, including La Lola, and that was enough for JC to see the late actor's true character.
ON YASMIEN AND RHIAN. JC simply downplayed the supposed rift going on between him and former love-team partner Yasmien Kurdi.
In a press conference last November 10 for Saan Darating And Umaga?. Yasmien, in one instance, refused to mention JC's name directly and instead referred to the actor as "that person."
"Baka nakalimutan niya lang pangalan ko," said JC with a grin when we reminded him of the incident. He then added, as if to reassure us: "Wala, okay lang sa ‘kin. Wala akong problema dun."
JC, in an October article that came out here in PEP, confessed that they're no longer on speaking terms.
"Ewan ko, hindi ko rin alam. Siguro dahil busy ako sa work, may sarili akong ginagawa.
He added, "Hindi niya ako pinapansin, e. E, since hindi nga kami nagkikita, so wala talaga..."
Since Yasmien is completely out of the picture, at least for now, JC's attention is understandably set on La Lola co-star Rhian Ramos, whom he referred to as the "closest girl" to him these days.
"Magaan ang buhay pag kasama ko siya," he said candidly, without answering directly if there's something special going on between them.
Although he preferred to play coy despite the incessant prodding of the entertainment press for him to give a clearer picture of their current relationship, JC's demeanor every time he's asked about Rhian seems to convey a rosy portrait.
As for Christmas, JC said, "Hindi po malamig."
