Manny Pacquiao finally agrees to fight Ricky Hatton

Manny Pacquiao revealed that his fight with British boxer Ricky Hatton will push through, now that he got a better deal.

Manny Pacquiao was proud to announce that his fight with British boxer Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton will go on as planned, a day after news came out that the fight was cancelled.

"Ilan laban na lang naman," explained Manny in his interview with Startalk. "Salamat naman sa kampo ko. Nagpapasalamat din ako na naayos na lahat."

Last Thursday, January 22, news came out that Hatton backed out from the proposed fight when he learned about Pacquiao's refusal to his terms on a 50-50 percent share of the prize money. However, Top Tank promoter Bob Arum amended the deal between the two fighters and revealed that a 52-48 percent share was proposed in favor of Manny.

The new deal prompted Manny to sign the contract for the fight that will take place on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. "Okay naman," commented Manny on the new deal. "Maganda naman ang kontrata namin."

According to Manny, however, this fight could possibly be one of the last before he ends his boxing career.

"Dalawang laban na lang, tapos, tapos na," Manny said. "Serbisyo naman! Mission accomplished na ako sa boxing."

By the words "serbisyo", does he mean that he would run again on the elections? If so, what position?

"Ganun pa rin. Paulit lang," said Manny who ran for congressman in General Santos City during the 2007 national elections.

SHOWBIZ AS USUAL. His fight with Hatton is just a few months away and for Manny, there is no time to rest as he prepares once again to don his training gloves and beef up. But for now, he is bound to make a special appearance on GMA-7's new drama series Totoy Bato, alongside Robin Padilla and Regine Velasquez. Hollywood has also its sights on Manny as well when Startalk found out that the Filipino boxer would star in a film opposite superstar Sylvester Stallone.

"Wala pa naman date," revealed Manny, "'tsaka may fight ako. Importante ang laban ko."
