Forbes hails Manny Pacquiao as 6th highest paid athlete in the world

The Filipino champ Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao earned $40 million in the last 12 months, enough for him to place 6th in U.S.-based business magazine Forbes' "The World's Highest Paid Athletes." The revenue is a combination of Pacman's earnings from his previous bouts against Oscar de la Hoya and Ricky Hatton, and his product endorsements here and abroad.

"Pacquiao's massive popularity in his native Philippines is why companies like Nike and San Miguel beer have signed him to endorse their products. Pacquiao intends to use that popularity to run for political office when his ring career is over," paliwanag ng magazine.
