John Lloyd Cruz tired of explaining real score between him and Ruffa Gutierrez

"Wala na akong magagawa doon. Hindi ko na hawak 'yon, e. Kasi, kahit ipitin niyo na ang mga daliri ko, hindi talaga kami," says John Lloyd Cruz about people who don't believe his claim that he and Ruffa Gutierrez are not an item.

John Lloyd Cruz is grateful that his team-up with Sarah Geronimo is still a hit even if they don't have a movie together anymore.

In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), John Lloyd wished that their fans would continue to support them.

"Sana nga magtuluy-tuloy kasi tapos na 'yong film," John Lloyd said in an interview after the press conference of his new endorsement with the Pop Princess, Lucky Me Pancit Canton, held yesterday, July 14, at the Ascott Hotel in Makati City.

The young actor said that having a TV ad with Sarah is proof enough of their successful team-up.

"Parang doon mo lang din mapapatunayan kung ano ba talaga ang naabot or narating ng team-up ninyo. 'Yong success kasi at that time talaga, 'Wow, successful, sobrang laki, sobrang okay!' Pero ngayon, parang it seems to be, parang may after-effect pa, parang may after-shock pa. Sana mas mag-linger pa.

"Sa business na 'to," he continued, "kapag hindi na kayo nagshu-shoot together, wala na kayong project, tumitigil doon, so sana huwag. Sana, in every movie that we will do in the future, para siyang celebration, para siyang reunion. Parang it's gonna be a big event kapag nagkasama kami [ulit]."

"ILANGAN" ISSUE. During the interview, John Llloyd and Sarah dismissed the "ilangan" issue between them. The actor told PEP that it's just a natural reaction with a person one hasn't seen for a long time.

John Lloyd explained that after their second movie, You Changed My Life, they lost regular communication.

"After the project, in touch naman kami. Pero nag-tour siya kasi, di ba? Hindi na kami masyadong nakakapag-usap, nag-iba rin kasi 'yong focus kasi. 'Yong importante sa kanya yung family, sa work, sa management niya, importante 'yong focus.

"Madalas hindi kami nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na makapag-communicate. Nagkikita lang kami ng Sunday sa ASAP. Ang hirap kasi ilang production ang iniisip niya. Mahirap magkaroon ng chance," he explained.

Despite this, John Lloyd believes that the friendship that they had built while doing their two movies—the first was A Very Special Love in 2008—did not change.

He told PEP, "Alam mo, sa tingin ko, kung 'yong friendship naman ay totoo, siguro darating 'yong time na kapag hindi kayo nagkikita or nagkakausap, hindi naman nawawala 'yon, nandoon lang siya. 'Yon nga lang, parang 'yong level of closeness, nababawasan. But kapag nagkita na kayo ulit, you catch up, di ba? You tell your stories to each other and nagiging okay na naman. Ganun ang klase ng friendship na, I think, and I'd like to believe, na meron kami."

ON ALLEGED BUDDING ROMANCE WITH RUFFA. Although John Lloyd already clarified that he and Ruffa Gutierrez are just friends, talks about their real relationship seem not to die down. (This was even intensified when their two paparrazi photos from the U.S. came out. (Click here to read related article.)

John Lloyd did not deny these photos, but he clarified, "So, we went out a few times in L.A. Nakita n'yo naman 'yon, nag-manifest naman through picture. Pero wala namang masama doon. Siguro, mali lang 'yong interpretation ng karamihan."

He stressed that people should not put malice on these sightings.

"Diyos ko, ayaw ko na talagang humiling pa! Pagod na talaga akong humiling. Para sa akin, kung sino ang mga nakakaintindi, salamat. Doon sa mga hindi at patuloy na gustong pagpiyestahan ang isyu na 'to, then, wala na akong magagawa."

Being in showbiz for more than a decade, John Lloyd said he has learned how to handle showbiz intrigues.

"Intriga lang naman 'yan," he said. "Sila lang naman ang gumagawa ng intriga. Para sa akin, alam mo 'yon, nagtratrabaho ka, punta ka sa trabaho mo, gawin mo ang trabaho mo. Pag-uwi mo, you're still the same person.

"In a way, yes, nakakaapekto 'yan lalo na kapag iba na ang ini-insinuate ng media doon sa kung ano 'yong totoo. Parang hindi ko ide-deny na nakakaapekto talaga. Pero at the end of the day, intriga lang 'yan na pinag-uusapan ngayon, di ba? Parang hindi ko siya puwedeng hayaan na para bang siya na ang bubuo sa akin o sisira sa akin. Hindi pa ako umaabot sa ganoong point."
