Even before Angel Locsin transferred to ABS-CBN from GMA-7, award-winning actor John Lloyd Cruz already expressed his wish to work with her.
Based on the current talks right now in showbiz, it seems that these two young actors will finally have the chance to work together in a TV series.
In a short chat with John Lloyd last July 15 after the press conference of his newest endorsement, Lucky Me Pancit Canton, he told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that they're just both waiting for the right timing. John Lloyd is busy shooting for his movie A Mother's Story: In My Life, with Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and her son Luis Manzano, while Angel's primetime series Only You is still airing on ABS-CBN.
In a previous interview with Angel, she was all praise for the 26-year-old actor. She even said that she would need a lot of workshops before working with John Lloyd.
But John Lloyd advises Angel not to expect too much. "Baka naman hindi ko ma-meet ang expectations niya," he said.
He added, "Alam mo, it's unfair, ha. Hindi 'yon fair for me kasi baka naman kung ano na ang i-expect ng tao and ine-expect niya. Parang lugi naman ako doon. Ako, ginagawa ko lang ang trabaho ko. Minsan pumapalpak ako, minsan sinusuwerte, minsan in sync ka with your own system so you can deliver. Pero what if that day comes and hindi ako maka-deliver, paano naman ako? So, huwag ganun."
But John Lloyd expressed his excitement to work with the former Darna actress. "Gusto kong makita 'yong... Kasi with Sarah [Geronimo] and myself, gusto kong makita kung ano 'yong maabot namin. Nae-excite akong makita kung ano 'yong magagawa namin ni Angel."
