Vehicle of actress Sunshine Dizon bumped by van during shoot break

What was supposed to be an uneventful dinner break turned into a minor accident for Tinik sa Dibdib lead star Sunshine Dizon after her vehicle was bumped by a van reportedly rented by former actress Shirley Fuentes.

The vehicle of actress Sunshine Dizon figured in an accident last night, September 23, after it was bumped by a van on Scout Rallos St., Quezon City.

Sunshine had just boarded her car at the time of the accident, along with the cast and crew of GMA-7's upcoming afternoon offering Tinik Sa Dibdib. They were in the middle of a dinner break when the accident happened.

The car of Tinik Sa Dibdib director Gil Tejada Jr. was also hit by the same van that struck Sunshine's vehicle.

"Wala naman nasaktan," a relieved Sunshine told GMA News. "Well, unfortunately, I was inside my car and my brother. Pero the rest, 'yong mga may-ari [of the other vehicles affected], nasa loob [ng shooting venue] because nag-dinner break nga kami."

They learned that the van that bumped Dizon's car was rented by former actress Shirley Fuentes.

The driver of the van, identified as Bonifacio Claud, reasoned out before the responding authorities that his foot got stuck between the break and accelerator pedals, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

"Pag-start ko, dumulas 'yong paa ko sa preno, sa pagitan ng accelerator 'tsaka nung brake... Kaya hindi ko maiangat 'yong paa ko dahil sumasabit sa pedal ng brake," he explained.

Although Sunshine and the other vehicle owners who were affected by the accident accepted Bonifacio's explanation, she addressed the lack of immediate action on the part of the car rental agency.

"We just all feel bad because we've been waiting for the owners para at least mag-explain man lang kung anong mangyayari sa amin dito. Kanina pa kami naghihintay," said Sunshine after the incident.
