Heart Evangelista and Allen Dizon win top acting honors in 57th FAMAS Awards

Heart Evangelista (left) and Allen Dizon (right) were named Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively, in the 57th FAMAS Awards held last Sunday, October 18. Heart won for her performance in Ay, Ayeng while Allen was recognized for his portrayal in Paupahan.


Tila inilihim sa entertainment press ang 57th FAMAS Awards dahil halos wala pang naglalabasang reports tungkol dito. Pero ginanap na pala ang annual awards night ng FAMAS (Filipino Academy of Movies, Arts, and Sciences) noong Linggo, October 18, sa Grand Theater ng PAGCOR-ParaƱaque.

Bukod sa ilang major awards at special awards ay wala pang nakukuhang kopya ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ng kumpletong listahan ng winners.

Pero para sa kaalaman ng lahat, ang nanalong Best Picture ay ang Baler ng Viva Films. Ang naturang pelikula na entry sa Metro Manila Film Festival last year ay pinagbidahan nina Jericho Rosales at Anne Curtis. Ang direktor nitong si Mark Meily ang nakakuha ng Best Director award.

Halos hinakot naman ng indie film na Paupahan ang acting awards. Si Allen Dizon ang itinanghal na Best Actor, samantalang sina Snooky Serna at German Moreno ang nakakuha ng Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively. Ang Paupahan ay idinirek ni Joven Tan, na hindi man lang na-nominate as Best Director.

Tinalo ni Allen sina Aga Muhlach (When Love Begins), Jericho Rosales (Baler), John Estrada (Caregiver), Polo Ravales (Walang Kawala), at Richard Gutierrez (For The First Time).

Ang Kapuso star na si Heart Evangelista ang nagwaging Best Actress para sa pagganap niya sa indie film na Ay, Ayeng. Tinalo ni Heart sina Sharon Cuneta (Caregiver), Judy Ann Santos (Ploning), Dawn Zulueta (Magkaibigan), Melissa Mendez (Kalakal), at Anne Curtis (Baler).

Ang mga sumusunod naman ang binigyan ng special awards: Carlo J. Caparas and Donna Villa (Presidential Award), Governor Vilma Santos (Circle of Excellence), Senator Bong Revillame (Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award), Kim Chiu & Gerald Anderson and Aljur Abrenica & Kris Bernal (German Moreno Youth Achievement Award), Sarah Geronimo (Golden Artist Award), and Roland Dantes (Posthumous Award).
