Singer Roselle Nava to marry longtime boyfriend on January 17 next year

Sabi ko nga, I'm very fortunate dahil kahit matagal akong nawala, parang may mark pa rin akong naiwan because of my songs. I'm glad na kahit hindi nga ganun, I was able to have songs na talagang nagmamarka sa akin," says Roselle Nava.

"After six albums that I've done, ngayon lang ako gumawa ng all-revivals. Although, yung last ko, medyo matagal na, 2004 pa yata. So, almost five years din. Matagal na talaga akong hindi nag-release ng album, so I had fun doing this album. Kasi, most of the songs are all familiar to me. Songs that I used to sing way, way back.

"Siyempre, love songs, dun talaga ako nakilala. Most of the songs have meaning to me kung bakit nandiyan siya sa album. Like 'What I Did For Love' was my song for Bagong Kampeon, yung ganoon," saad ni Roselle sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

"Kasi, two years ago, I started a music school, yung Muzik Korner sa Parañaque at Quezon City. Dun kami na-busy. Yung other years naman, kumakanta pa rin ako, it's just that hindi lang visible sa TV. E, siyempre, you know naman, kailangan nakikita ka sa TV for you to say na nandiyan ka.

"I've been touring abroad, dun kami na-busy talaga. Sabi ko nga, I'm very fortunate dahil kahit matagal akong nawala, parang may mark pa rin akong naiwan because of my songs. I'm glad na kahit hindi nga ganun, I was able to have songs na talagang nagmamarka sa akin.

"Hindi ko na rin naman masabi what went wrong, pero during the time na lumipat din ako ng management, recording label, because I used to be in Star Records and Star Magic. Tapos, lumipat kami ng management, kay Tito Wyngard Tracy, and he's been very good to me. Magaling siyang mentor.

"Now, we just signed up with VAA naman. Siyempre, I just want to assure whatever talent I have... Kasi, marami rin kaming natatangap na e-mails na, 'Why don't you record another album kasi we miss hearing your voice?" So, finally, yun, eto na yung Roselle Nava Love Songs."

Feeling ni Roselle, during her time ay hindi raw kasing-bongga ang opportunities nila, unlike sa baguhang singers ngayon.

"Most of us are not given the opportunities being given to the newcomers now, di ba? Noong time kasi namin, mas pina-prioritize, like siyempre nandiyan ang mga senior sa amin. Hindi kami binigyan ng trust na kaya na namin during our time, ha... yung parang to be on our own.

"So, sabi ko, siguro ganun lang talaga. Very lucky lang ngayon, kasi combined with great talents, nandun din ang trust ng big company, like puwede silang mag-endorse, to have solo show. Siguro if we were given that kind of chance during our time, baka much better.

"And I love to look forward rather than, 'Sana ganyan ang ginawa ko.'

Early this year lang daw nag-sign up with VAA si Roselle.

ROSELLE IS GETTING MARRIED. On a personal note, Roselle is getting married on January 17, 2010 sa kanyang longtime boyfriend na si Allen Tan. Nine years na silang magkasintahan.

"I'm looking forward to that also," nakangiting sabi ni Roselle. "We're just finishing Ladies of the '90s. And after my wedding, we'll have schedule for a tour sa Ladies of the '90s sa States. So, that would be exciting also.

"I don't know, 'no, pero he's been very, very supportive sa akin, sa career ko, through the years.

"Partner ko siya actually sa Muzik Korner, sa school, but he's working in Tagaytay Highlands. He's been with Highlands for about two or three years pa lang with my brother, he's working there also. Tapos, very busy kami now. Siyempre, you want your wedding to be very, very special"

"Sina Dra. Vicki Belo, she said yes already to be one of our sponsors, and Ms. Joy Lim. Then, si Boss Vic del Rosario [of Viva Films], mamaya ko pa lang kasi siya kakausapin. And some are politicians. Since I ran last election as councilor—although unfortunately I didn't win—I gained friends naman at wala akong naging regrets talaga sa pag-run ko noon sa Parañaque."

"I don't know, siguro ano lang...very happy rin ako with our relationship, with our life, so natatakot... There's a part of you na napi-fear na kapag may iba na, kapag nagpakasal ka, siyempre you have to be more responsible, meron na kayong own family, so nakakatakot.
