Writer Jake Tordesillas refuses to explain why he transferred from ABS-CBN to GMA-7

"No, it's something personal. I'd rather keep it to myself," says award-winning scriptwriter Jake Tordesillas when asked about why he resigned from ABS-CBN.

Isa na nga rito ang writer na si Jake Tordesillas, who along with GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar, is the creative consultant of Diva. Pero ang unang project ni Jake sa GMA-7 after his transfer from ABS-CBN was SRO Cinemaserye Presents Meet The Fathers, starring Christopher de Leon and Bayani Agbayani, as head of the creative writers.

Apprehensive at noong una'y nagsabi agad si Jake na huwag na lang siyang interbyuhin when PEP approached him for some questions.

"That came after I resigned. I don't know what made them resign," sabi niya. And then he added, "Are you talking about the article in [name of entertainment website]? Kasi like Sen [Senedy Que] and Keiko Aquino, they resigned before my resignation. So, yung sinasabi nila... Well, isa pang mine-mention nila dun, si Agnes Gagelonia also resigned before I did.

Well, Michiko Yamamoto... Ang kumuha kay Michiko was Jun Lana [creative consultant and director of GMA-7 dramas]. I was only there to accompany her in the meeting. Pero hindi ko alam what made her resign din. So, if what you're are asking me na inaano namin... Well, nagulat nga rin kaming lahat that we ended up in GMA dahil hindi namin plan yun."

Dugtong pa niya, "Si Agnes din, ang plano niya, that's why she resigned, may sick husband siya. And her son needs attention sa school.

Before that, he was the creative manager of ABC5 shows, like Tropang Trumpo, Love Notes, Eezy Dancing, and Wow Mali. Tapos aynapunta na nga raw siya sa Dos and stayed there for nine years.

"Sa ngayon nga lang, it's a commitment that I made. Lilybeth Rasonable [AVP for Drama] kasi is my best friend. I told her that I'll work hard here in GMA."

Naniniwala naman daw si Jake that when he moved to GMA-7, he didn't burn bridges with the Kapamilya people.

"No, as a matter of fact, I had a meeting with Tita Cory [Vidanes, TV head of ABS-CBN] last week. It's like I always attend ng mga ABS. I went to the birthday of Cathy Perez. So, yung friendship, I guess it's beyond network naman. Noong nagpaalam naman ako, naintindihan naman nila ang reason ko why I had to transfer," sabi ng mahusay na writer.

Yung reason ba na hindi niya masabi-sabi, was it something personal or work-related?

"No, it's something personal. I'd rather keep it to myself," iwas niya.

Aside from his work in television, Jake Tordesillas is also known for his screenplays, some of which are: Kapag Napagod ang Puso, The Secrets of Sarah Jane Salazar, Nandito Ako...Nagmamahal Sa 'Yo, My Other Woman, Pahiram Kahit Sandali, Bagets, Tagos ng Dugo, and Dinampot Ka Lang sa Putik.
