Bea Alonzo is excited to start taping her teleserye with Gretchen Barretto

"Alam mo, napakaliit ng mundong ito, talagang magkakatrabaho at magkakatrabaho din kayo," says Bea Alonzo about the chances of working again with constant screen partner John Lloyd Cruz.

Bea Alonzo has yet to start taping for her upcoming teleserye with Gretchen Barretto on ABS-CBN because she still has several engagements to finish until first week of April. In fact, the young actress will leave for the United States on March 23 for the annual Heartthrobs concert tour with Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu, and Pokwang.

"At saka mahirap 'yong mag-i-start ka na tapos mabibitin ka for three weeks or a month, at saka mag-i-start. So, gusto namin na hintayin muna until April, then tuluy-tuloy na," added Bea in an interview during the press conference of her latest endorsement, Colour Collection, earlier this afternoon, March 18, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati City.

However, Bea said that she and Gretchen are both excited to be working together for the first time. In fact, she said, "Kinakamusta niya ako lagi. It's nice kasi parang we're both excited for the project."

What can she say about Gretchen's previous statement praising her acting prowess?

"Sobrang nakakatuwa. Kahit ako, hanga ako sa kanya," she smiled.

But Bea admitted that she felt nervous when she first learned that she's going to do a project with Gretchen a.k.a. La Greta.

"It's so odd kasi when I heard na I'll be working with her, kinakabahan ako. Sobrang doon pa lang, parang na-intimidate na ako, just the thought of working with her kasi alam naman natin na diosa ang lola mo. Talagang nakakatakot, so talagang effort kung effort ang pagpapapayat niya, effort kung effort ang pagpapaganda diyan."

Bea's initial impression about La Greta totally changed when they met personally. She recalled, "When I met her sa workshop, she said napanood niya ang mga movies ko. She really like the movie, 'yong Miss You Like Crazy, nakakatuwa. Tapos, alam mo, nakita ko 'yong vulnerable side of her. Doon ko na-realize na 'yon, prettiest niya, which is vulnerable. Nakakatuwa and parang feeling ko, nag-gain ako ng isang friend na 'yong totoo."

Bea and Gretchen will be joined by Derek Ramsay in this television series, which has a working title of 'Til My Heartaches End.

ADVICE TO ANGEL LOCSIN. In another topic, Bea expressed her happiness about the support she and John Lloyd Cruz got for their recent movie Miss You Like Crazy.

The Kapamilya actress admitted she was initially afraid about the reaction of the viewers since it's been quite a while that they did a movie together.

"Alam mo, it's very overwhelming kasi nandoon 'yong takot sa 'yo, e," she said. "Hindi naman sa sobrang doon ka naka-focus, pero somehow, there's a part of you na kinakabahan din kung tatanggapin ng tao o hindi. Lalo na it's not the usual Star Cinema movie na ganito ang set-up, perfect love story. It's a perfect love story but in a not-so-perfect situation. Hindi siya 'yong usual Star Cinema movie na may formula or whatever. Nakakatakot din, pero overwhelming that they still watched it. Kahit papaano, naramdaman ko na may naniniwala pa rin sa tambalan namin ni John Lloyd."

If Bea is doing a teleserye with Gretchen, John Lloyd, on the hand, is slated to do a different teleserye with Angel Locsin. As the perennial onscreen partner of the award-wining actor, what advice will Bea give to Angel?

"Ang maia-advise ko lang kay Angel is i-enjoy n'yo every moment, every day na makakatrabaho niya si John Lloyd. You know, it's quite an experience to be working with him," she said.

Bea also praised John Lloyd by saying, "I'm sure magiging maganda ang pagsasama nila because I'm a fan of John Lloyd. He's a good actor talaga. Sa generation namin, isa siya sa pinakamagaling na actors dito sa atin."
