Charlene Gonzalez believes in "ageing gracefully" without surgery

"All of us will age at some point. I still believe in ageing gracefully. I think there are women who are a lot older and they're still quite beautiful. It's looking your best at the age you are at," said Charlene Gonzalez when asked if she has ever considered cosmetic surgery.

For Charlene Gonzalez, natural beauty is still better than an "enhanced" look.

The 1994 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe said it has never crossed her mind to undergo cosmetic surgery to look more beautiful.

"It's not something I would encourage other people to do," the 36-year-old mom told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview during the press launch of her latest Facial Care endorsement yesterday, May 27, at Sala Restaurant on Makati Avenue, Makati City.

She added, "All of us will age at some point. I still believe in ageing gracefully. I think there are women who are a lot older and they're still quite beautiful. It's like looking your best at the age you are at. Like, you're 60 years old parang pinipilit mong maging 18 years old. Di ba, hindi magandang tingnan."

Charlene said she does not think of having her looks altered by a beauty surgeon, "because there's still many, many years ahead for me to enjoy this now."

KEEPING FIT. Although she became famous as a beauty queen, the wife of Aga Muhlach said she was never pressured by this to look fab whenever she went out it in public.

In fact, she said, "on a regular day, I don't wear makeup. I only wear makeup when I have to wear makeup, for work. If not, on a regular basis, I don't wear makeup."

However, if there's one thing she's really conscious about, it's every other the celebrity's major concern: keeping a fit body.

She related to PEP, "Alam mo, talagang I think sa trabaho ng artista parang non-stop talaga ang buhay-diet, 'no? Talagang minsan kahit nakakapagod. It's really part of our world. We're always constantly dieting and exercising."

Aside from watching what she eats, Charlene plays sports to maintain a healthy body. Among these are badminton, biking, and wakeboarding, which she and Aga love to do.

"It's my way of de-stressing, of enjoying life. It's also one of the things I enjoy doing with my family," she concluded.
