Piolo Pascual is looking forward to spending Father's Day with his son Iñigo, who has been living in the United States for the past five years. His son will be in Grade 7 this coming school year.
"He is coming over and I want to spend mostly private moments with him coz he's only here for the summer. I don't really want to expose him because he's still young," said Piolo in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press earlier today, June 3, at the Enderun Colleges, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
As the new endorser of Century Tuna Bangus, Piolo helped Chef Heart Alikpala cook pasta à la oglio with boneless bangus belly.
How does he plan to spend summer with his son?
"I don't have anything particular in mind but maybe he can accompany me sa mga taping ko, sa mga shoots. But more than that, just really spend some quality time with him," Piolo said.
He recalled that his son already had the chance to observe him on the set when he visited the Philippines last year.
The matinee idol revealed that Iñigo is fond of music, particularly the pop-rock genre. "He's done Center for Pop, nag-John Robert Powers pa nga siya," Piolo added.
Is he open to the possibility of allowing his son to enter showbiz in the future?
"Ang sabi ko sa kanya, tapusin niya muna ang pag-aaral niya and from there, we can decide," Piolo replied. "If it's my choice, ayoko talaga coz it's tough. But kung 'yon ang hilig niya, my only request is for him to finish his studies."
ON KC CONCEPCION. Piolo was asked regarding his feelings for KC Concepcion and he admitted, "KC will always be someone who is special to me. She's somebody I can talk to for hours and be with every day. She's a good person. There's more to her than what you see on TV.
"I'm growing. We're both growing. It's hard coz we're both in the industry. It's something na hindi mo maiiwasan na mapag-usapan. But as much as possible, we try to protect the relationship that we have because people will always have their judgment. But it's something that we really want to take care of and nurture."
Even though Piolo and KC are busy with their respective careers, they still manage to find time to do things together, such as malling.
"We want to find time to watch movies or go to malls na alam mong walang camera or walang kailangang pag-usapan sa media. I guess that's the human side of us," he said.
The matinee idol was even spotted being sweet to KC during her album launch on ASAP XV. "I was so excited for her and behind the cameras naman, I want to express excitement for someone that you truly care about," Piolo explained.
Piolo has also expressed his desire to guest on KC's morning show, Simply KC, but they have yet to come up with a unqiue concept for his episode.
