Robi Domingo says all's well inside Gigger Boys camp

Robi Domingo is thrilled to be included in the cast of Star Cinema's scare flick, Cinco. The Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition runner up and MYX VJ will be seen in the film's first episode titled "Braso."

Ex-Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition runner-up Robi Domingo says that there's no rivalry going on between the Gigger Boys.

Robi together with AJ Perez and Sam Concepcion were chosen by Star Cinema to topbill the "Braso" episode of its upcoming horror film, Cinco.

But while the three managed to clinch the exciting project, their fellow Gigger Boys groupmates—Enchong Dee, Arron Villaflor, Dino Imperial, and Chris Gutierrez—are not included in the episode's cast.

Director Frasco Mortiz said during a press conference last June 30 at Proud Mary Café Diner on Tomas Morato, Quezon City, that the project was not conceptualized as a Gigger Boys movie and that the story and script requires only a small cast.

The neophyte movie director also wanted the characters to stand out in the eyes of the viewers.

"Isa sa mga challenge ko po talaga was, sana hindi nila makita 'yong tatlo as Gigger Boys," said Direk Frasco. "Sana makita nila 'yong tatlo as themselves or as the character they portray. And feeling ko, nagawa naman po namin 'yon."

There is no reason for the others to feel slighted, according to Robi, since all of them have projects outside the group.

"I don't think po they're offended or may nagtatampo," smiled Robi. "We're okay po lahat sa Gigger Boys and we all support each other. I think it's nice that management is giving us a chance to grow both as individuals and as a group."

LEARNING EXPERIENCE. Part of Robi's preparation for "Braso" includes staying fit and watching his diet. Female fans have extra reason to watch the film since the three actors agreed to show some skin while clad only in boxers shorts.

Robi, who juggles Muay Thai and working out in the gym, confessed feeling uncomfortable at first when asked to show his body in front of the camera.

"Gulat na gulat!" smiled Robi. "Kasi before I go to the gym, not really because I have to do it for a particular role. But this time, I guess kailangan, so nakakagulat. But at the same time, it's an honor for me to be included in this film."

The 20-year-old actor learned a whole lot while doing the film. Cinco is of course way much different than his first movie Paano Na Kaya?, the romance-drama starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.

"Sobrang hirap niya dahil 'yong lighting pa lang, matagal na 'yong pag-set up. Acting wise, ibang-iba po 'yong demands ng horror film as compared sa drama. Kasi sa expression pa lang, kailangan maipakita namin 'yong fear para maramdaman ng audience kaagad. It was hard, pero masaya lalo na pag nakita mo na 'yong final edit."

Most of the PBB graduates are doing well in their respective careers. Just last June 22, first Teen Edition winner Kim Chiu landed on the cover of YES! 100 Most Beautiful Stars, following in the footsteps of previous cover girls Judy Ann Santos, KC Concepcion, and Marian Rivera.

There's a new batch of stars from the franchise after its latest installment (Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010) ended last week.

Robi couldn't help but recall his experiences while inside the Big Brother house every time he managed to catch the show on television.

"Of course nandun 'yong tuwa kasi nakapasok ako sa bahay na 'yon and na-experience nila, kung hindi man lahat ng na-experience ko at least napagdaanan din nila 'yong mga natutunan ko habang nandun ako. I wish them well, siyempre, ngayon na nasa showbiz na rin sila," said Robi.
