Empress Schuck admits she also received death threats when she was wrongly linked to Gerald Anderson

Empress Schuck says it's okay if she's not given the lead role in her next ABS-CBN project.

Parehas naman pong under Ms. Malou [Santos] and ABS-CBN pa rin po ang nagbigay sa akin ng break, hindi naman po nila ako pababayaan," she said.

Empress Schuck is happy with where her career is headed.

She will soon start taping for her next project in ABS-CBN, an assignment that comes just days after her debut project, Rosalka, ended in its run in the same network.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment media interviewed the 17-year-old actress this afternoon at the press conference of the direct-selling company Natasha, held at The Sulo Hotel in Quezon City.

Empress is the latest celebrity endorser for Natasha, where she keeps company with Judy Ann Santos, Jericho Rosales, and Jennica Garcia. The Filipino-owned firm produces its own brand of clothes, makeup, shoes, and cologne.

"Siyempre po, masaya na hindi ako pinabayaan o binitawan ng ABS-CBN," Empress says in answer to a question about what she feels about her career.

Rosalka ended last week, October 22, and this early Empress already knows that she begins taping this November. She admits, though, that she feels renewed pressure on her because the new soap opera will premiere on the Kapamilya network's primetime slot.

"Kailangan nilang makita yung kaibahan, 'saka yung improvement.

According to several reports, Empress will play support to Bea Alonzo and Robin Padilla. Does it bother Empress that she will not be given lead-role status in this new project?

"Hindi naman po, hindi naman," she said.

DEATH THREATS. Empress says she's a close friend of Kim Chiu, who is confronted with the issue that her screen partner Gerald Anderson has received threats to his life. Gerald himself has admitted this.

Recently, reporters were surprised when Gerald and Kim cried during the October 12 presscon for their movie Till My Heartaches End. Gerald revealed at the time that he received death threats, and that his mother and his rumored current romantic-interest Bea Alonzo, did too. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)

Empress reveals that she also received threats against her life when she was linked to Gerald in 2008.

Does she know who were sending the threats?

Empress clarifies that she and Gerald were never an item.

"Nagkakilala kami after nung issue," she tells reporters. So, parang, nagtataka kami, saan nanggaling yun?

Empress says she actually she prefers to have a non-showbiz boyfriend.

Magulo," the young star says.

SUPPORT FOR KIM. Empress also says that she quietly supports Kim Chiu.

So, madalang din kaming nag-uusap saka nagkikita. Minsan pag may napapanood ako, o kumusta, mga gan'yan. E, siyempre, busy rin. Hindi rin siguro siya nakaka-reply.

"Pero kung nagkikita naman kami, masaya kami. Pero hindi namin pinag-uusapan. Kasi parang... wala lang. Ganyan naman talaga dito, e. Ang daming tsismis, ganyan."

She was only able to ask Kim about what happened just before the premiere of Till My Heartaches End.

"Eto lang, bago lang. Bago mag-premiere night, tinanong ko siya. 'Bakit?' Sabi ko, 'Bakit kayo nag-iyakan? Anong nangyari?'

So what does Empress feel now about Gerald?

"Parang wala," the seventeener answers. Ganun. So wala. Mas kami ni Kim, kesa si Gerald."
