Vicento “Tito” Sotto appears secure in his reelection bid for the Senate.
As of 9:06 p.m., he landed third spot in the senatorial Magic 12, behind front-runners Joel Villanueva and Franklin Drilon, based on partial and unofficial election results of COMELEC-GMA Mirror Server.
This was despite the rehash of old news about his alleged involvement in the Pepsi Paloma rape case back in the 80s.

Sarangani Representative and boxing Manny Pacquiao, on the other hand, places ninth so far among the top 12 senatorial candidates.
This, despite the controversies that plagued him during the campaign period.
To recall, Pacquiao made headlines with his anti-same sex marriage statement last February.
Pacquiao partly stated in an interview with Bilang Pilipino, “Mas mabuti pa ang hayop, marunong kumilala kung lalaki o lalaki, babae o babae, di ba?
“Ngayon, kung lalaki sa lalaki, babae sa babae, e, mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao.”

Meanwhile, the husbands of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos also made it in the Top 12 based on the latest partial, official results.
Kiko Pangilinan is in 8th place, while Ralph Recto is hanging in No. 11.
The other senatorial candidates who are in Top 12 are Ping Lacson (No, 4), Dick Gordon (No. 5), Risa Hontiveros (No. 6), Migz Zubiri (No. 7), Win Gatchalian (No. 10), and Leila De Lima (No. 12).

Unfortunately, the other celebrities who ran for a senate seat are likely to lose: Isko Moreno is currently at No. 16; Mark Lapid is at No. 20; Edu Manzano, No. 21; and Alma Moreno, No. 24.
