"Whatever his [DJ Mo Twister] accomplishments naman, I know in the future, is accomplishments din ni Moira. Kaya sana maging okey kami, kasi magkikita rin naman kami sa L.A., kasi kasal ng brother niya, flower girl si Moira," says Bunny Paras of former boyfriend DJ Mo Twister, the father of her daughter Moira.

Last September, there was an entry in an Internet blog about the rumored health condition of the lovechild of DJ Mo Twister (Mohan Gumatay in real life) and Bunny Paras. The blogger mistakenly wrote that their nine-year-old daughter Moira, who has Miller Fisher Syndrome, is suffering from brain cancer. Bunny, a former actress now residing in Los Angeles, clarified this by phone patch in Startalk.

But DJ Mo objected to Bunny's talking about their daughter on TV.

In an interview with Showbiz Central, DJ Mo told his co-host Rufa Mae Quinto, "Imagine, when I finally figured out, nalaman ko na lumabas 'yong issue na 'to, 'yong tungkol sa brain cancer at 'yong tungkol sa Internet blog, ginawa na ni Bunny 'yong TV interview niya. I'm like, ‘Wow! I think we should talk about this first before nilalabas natin 'yong pangalan ng nine-year-old daughter natin on TV.

"'Yong mga problems natin, like, 'yong katulad ng kay Moira ngayon. Dapat hindi dinadala sa TV iyon, e, kasi lumalabas kanina, sa kabila, lumabas dito [Showbiz Central], lumabas sa Startalk. This is no place to deal with a nine-year-old's medical condition."

Bunny explained her side in her live interview with Startalk yesterday, October 11.

"Na-sad nga ako, e," said Bunny referring to the video clip showing DJ Mo's interview. "Kasi noong tinawagan nila ako about doon sa nangyari, na-text ko na siya noon. Sabi ko, ‘Do you know about this? Kasi they're calling me.' Hindi naman siya nag-reply.

"So, I talked to his mom, sabi ko, ‘Tita, na-interview ako, phone patch lang naman. But I cleared it,' sabi kong ganun. 'Tapos noong tumawag na siya sa akin, 'yon na, disappointed na siya because I clarified it. Sabi ko, ‘There's nothing wrong naman in clarifying.'"

Then, she apologized for upsetting DJ Mo. She said, "Naging sensitive siya about it. So, sorry kung mali 'yong interpretation niya, kung yun iyong opinion niya, di ba? At saka may sakit naman talaga 'yong bata, mali lang iyong nailabas."

Bunny reiterated that everything's okay between her and DJ Mo now.

Startalk host Butch Francisco threw a follow up question, "Tungkol saan?"

Bunny was very open in answering, "About being a dad, na wala naman siya doon nang mangyari 'yong sakit. So, hindi naman niya talaga fully...‘yong nangyayari and what I've been through para mag-survive, to handle the situation."

MO TWISTER AS A FATHER. Despite this misunderstanding, Bunny said that since she's been okay with DJ Mo, he has never forgotten his responsibilities to Moira. "Alam mo, simula nang maging okey na kami ng family niya, nagkasakit si Moira, nagre-remit 'yong mom niya sa bank account ko. I don't know kung ano ang usapan nila ng mom niya."

The actress's only request to DJ Mo was to spend more quality time with Moira whenever they come here for a visit.

She said, "Si Moira kasi, every year, binabakasyon ko dito for summer vacation niya. So, ang gusto ko lang naman, kapag nandito si Moira, mag-spend siya ng time. E, two months [dito] si Moira, three days lang sila nagkita. Pero si Lola [Mo's mom] laging nandiyan."

When Butch asked her, "So, hindi naman pabayang ama si Mo? We cannot say that naman?"

Bunny's indirect answer was, "Kasi when you're a dad, hindi lang naman dahil nakasulat ang pangalan mo sa birth certificate, dad ka na. It goes with a lot of things, daldalhin mo sa school, gagawin mo 'yong homework, dadalhin mo 'yong mga activities. Hindi lang dahil ikaw 'yong ama, ikaw na 'yong dad. Dad means you function as a father, nagagawa mo 'yong responsibilities mo as a father."

MOIRA IS OKAY. Bunny said that despite her daughter's neurological disorder, she is getting better.

"Alam mo, three years ago, mahirap talaga kasi she's battling with the paralyzation, hindi makalakad. You know, she's getting better. Talagang we do a lot of therapy. Every day, may activity siya," said Bunny when asked about her daughter's condition.

Again, she clarified that it's not brain cancer. She explained, "Part kasi niyan, since neurological siya, it has to do with the brain. So, kailangan mo i-MRI [magnetic resonance imaging] 'yong brain para makita kung anong meron, bakit maayos-ayos 'yong balance niya."

Moreover, Bunny said that this illness does not affect her daughter's daily activities.

She related, "Kasi sa States, parang 'yong concern nila for kids with disabilities, napag-uusapan iyan. You have to talk to the school, the teacher. Kasi hino-home study dapat si Moira. But since little by little with the transfusion, pumapasok naman siya sa regular school. Naka-gifted class pa nga.

"Actually, matalino 'yong bata. She's very smart at saka nasa gifted class. 'Yon lang, nasa second floor 'yong classroom. Puwedeng ilipat, kaso sabi niya, ‘Mom, I earned it, I wanna be in my class.'"

When asked who helps her in taking care of Moira, Bunny mentioned someone aside from her mother. "My mom is there, my fiancé is there," Bunny told Butch.

Bunny gladly told Startalk that she was engaged to her Fil-Am boyfriend named Tom two months ago.

She did not give a definite plan about the wedding, but Bunny said, "My sister is planning a bridal shower for me while I'm here. 'Tapos I'm still trying to convince his family kung okay magpakasal dito sa Manila or in L.A. because all his relatives are all in the States."
