Last night, August 16, the premiere of Way Back Home was held at SM Megamall Cinema 6.
Kathryn and Julia were overwhelmed that a lot of their supporters and friends from the industry came to the event.
In a live interview with ABS-CBN’s SNN, Kathryn and Julia expressed their happiness.
Julia, too, admitted that she got emotional and overwhelmed by the support they got for their first movie.
"Sobrang thank you talaga."
Meanwhile, leading men Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion are also grateful for the reception of the fans to their tandem with Kathryn and Julia, respectively.
Enrique said, "Napaka-proud and napaka-happy namin sa mga eksena namin.
"Kasi noong una akala ko hindi talaga magki-click, kasi first time namin magka-tandem.
Enrique replaced Albie Casiño, who was Kathryn’s leading man in Mara Clara.
Sam is grateful to the fans of the late young actor AJ Perez and to his family who were present at the premiere.
AJ Perez was supposed to play Julia’s leading man in the movie but Sam got the role after AJ’s death. (CLICK HERE to related article)
Sam said, "Salamat. Sobrang salamat. Sobrang saya ko noong nakita ko sila Tito Gerry and yung buong family.
"Sobrang overwhelming ’yong success namin tonight and dahil ’yon sa mga pumunta ngayon."
Way Back Home, which opens today (August 17), received a B rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board.
