Sharon Cuneta on Biggest Loser Pinoy contestants: "They really renewed my faith [in myself] to lose weight."

Sharon Cuneta on how the Biggest Loser Pinoy contestants inspired her to shed a few pounds: "They really just renewed my faith in myself. Parang nahiya ako sa sarili ko kasi I did have so much to lose, di ba? Tapos parang ang tagal-tagal. So, they really renewed my faith [in myself] to lose weight."

Sharon Cuneta really planned to show up in public after her stint in the reality show, Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition.

Her intention was to make her fans and followers miss her, then she would appear at the grand finale, held last night, October 8, at the Yñares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Megastar did not disappoint because when she appeared onstage the audience started screaming and most were surprised to see a thinner Sharon.

"Ang tagal kong hindi lumabas sa TV kasi I wanted din a little surprise for my Sharonians and followers.

"Actually, hindi ako nagwe-weigh lately, e.

"Basta ang alam ko, paluwag nang paluwag ’yong mga damit ko at pasikip nang pasikip ’yong mga tinatahi namin," she related to (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other media in an interview after the program.

During the show, Sharon repeatedly told the Biggest Loser contestants that they have become her inspiration.

"Ako, when I looked at them for the first time, I said it and I did not mean to say it onscreen, pero they renewed my faith in myself.

"Parang nahiya ako sa sarili ko kasi I did have so much to lose, di ba?

’Tapos parang ang tagal-tagal.

"So they really renewed my faith [in myself] to lose weight.

"Sa awa ng Diyos, nasorpresa ng konti ang audience ko tonight."

Like in her past interviews, Sharon said she’s more serious now with her diet, exercise, and weight treatments.

"It’s really a combination—it still is, of good dieting.

"I’m not depriving myself, but I’m cutting carbs out of my diet.

"Of course, I really have regular treatments with Marie France, as often as possible kahit puno ang schedule ko. Malaking tulong talaga."

Although the weight-loss reality show has already concluded, Sharon promised that she would still continue her regimen for losing weight.

She has another motivation: "I’m going to do a movie soon for Star Cinema."

BLPE AS AN INSPIRATION. Sharon hopes the show inspired Pinoys who are obese to observe a healthy lifestyle.

She said, "From the very beginning, nagbibigay kami ng facts on the evils ng pagiging sobrang mataba.

"Hindi lang ’yong pangungutya sa ’yo kundi talaga sa kalusugan.

"Nakakalungkot naman kung papayag kang magkaroon ng sakit na masama at ang pinakamasakit ay ’yong kamatayan, na pwede naming i-avoid.

"Sana nga naipakita natin. Kasi, hindi naman nating kailangang parang gano’n kabongga ang workout mo katulad ng contestants natin in camp.

"You can do it at your own pace, slowly but surely.

"The more weight you lose, the more inspired you become."

Sharon also mentioned, "Sana we’ve been able to inform or educate a little bit yung mga manonood na madali naman magkaroon ng healthy lifestyle.

"Ika-cut down mo lang sa ibang parte, dadagdagan mo naman sa iba.

"Dahan-dahan naman ang pag-uumpisa niyan.

"Ako, I’m very proud of the show because hindi lang siya contest.

"Naging source siya ng maraming knowledge about the dangers of obesity."

ABS-CBN is already preparing for the second season of Biggest Loser. Sharon hopes she will still host the show.
