David Beckham on his visit to a UNICEF-supported center in Manila: "I had the incredible privilege of being shown around a UNICEF-supported center in Manila. Young children who have been left to live or work on the streets are given help and support so they can rebuild their lives again and find a home where they are loved and cared for."

David Beckham has met children who live on the streets in the Philippines.

The soccer star—who has four children, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, Cruz, six, and four-month-old daughter Harper with wife Victoria Beckham—visited a UNICEF-supported center in Manila, and admits he was "so impressed" with the warmth they showed him on his trip.

Writing on his Facebook page, he said: "Hi everyone, I had the incredible privilege of being shown around a UNICEF-supported centre in Manila. Young children who have been left to live or work on the streets are given help and support so they can rebuild their lives again and find a home where they are loved and cared for.

"As a dad with young children, I can't imagine how life was for these young children living and working on the streets.

"I was so impressed with the welcome and warmth from the children and the incredible work that the staff at the center do. They are all very special people."

While visiting the center, David even took part in some activities, including learning how to sew.

He said: "I was shown around by the children who talked me through what they do at the center. They even got me to try some sewing which is a first! I was blown away by these inspiring people."

He also posed in graduation outfits the children made and took part in an art class, during the visit.

David has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the charity in 2005, with a special focus on Sports for Development programs.
