Model Victor Silayan now looks at acting as a serious job; after Glamorosa, waits for next project from TV5

Victor Silayan on acting: "Now, I look at acting as a serious job. Hindi ito parang naglalaro ka lang... Kaya ngayon, I want to know how far this acting career will take me. I want to experiment more on the different characters.

"I want to take up more acting workshops. If possible, I want to try different roles on TV and even sa movies."

"Whatever TV5 has in store for me, I know that it will be good and it will definitely be another challenge for me," sabi ni Victor nang makausap siya ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noong Martes, January 10, sa Chef Laudico’s Cafe Filipino sa Quezon City.

Dagdag pa niya, "Wala naman akong marereklamo sa TV5 because ever since I started with them, impressed na ako sa mga projects na bigay nila.

"Kaya I know that after Glamorosa, I will be doing another big project for them."

GOODBYE, MODELLING?

Saad ni Victor, "But now, I look at acting as a serious job. Hindi ito parang naglalaro ka lang.

"No wonder my lolo [Vic Silayan] loved acting and he was very serious with it.

"He wasn’t an award-winning actor for nothing, di ba?

"Kaya ngayon, I want to know how far this acting career will take me.

"I want to experiment more on the different characters.

"I want to take up more acting workshops.

"If possible, I want to try different roles on TV and even sa movies."

"It was a small role but I had fun doing it.

"So, characters like that can be challenging for me.

"Being a new actor, I want to experiment on a variety of roles.

"But of course, may konting limitations pa rin ako," diin ni Victor.

VICTOR’S LIMITATIONS.

What about gay roles?

"Kung comedy, okey lang that I do a gay role!" tawa niya.

"I know it’s stereotypical, pero hanggang sa gano’n muna ang kaya ko if ever I do a gay character.

"May mga serious gay roles kasi, di ba?

"Kapag medyo gano’n na, I guess I would pass on it.

"It’s not that I don’t want to do it—baka kasi maging issue pa ’yan sa family ko.

"Even if they are very supportive of my career in showbiz, hindi naman ibig sabihin, lahat ng ibigay sa akin na roles ay gagawin ko.

"I still have to consider what my family would feel if I do such a role.

"Kung makakaapekto sa Christian values ko at ng pamilya ko ang isang role, I will not do it for now.

"May mga bagay kasi that we need to think about before doing it.

"Kung gagawin ko ang role na gay, or a role that would require me to be sexy, I want to be sure and be ready for it mentally, physically, and spiritually.

HIS OTHER INTERESTS.

He’s also into mixed martial arts.

Aniya, "I was thinking of going back to training again for Muay Thai.

"It’s been a year na since I’ve stopped competing. And it’s been more than three months since I’ve stopped training.

"Kaya kailangan na nating makapag-ensayo ulit just to get back in shape.

"I used to be shy, not until I modelled for Bench!" sabay tawa niya.

"That really made me come out of my shell!

"But what really gave me that big confidence was when I tried acting and it did me good.

"I never thought that I could do those scenes on television. I never saw myself as an actor kasi.

"But since nandito na nga ako, might as well do what’s best. And acting gave me that confidence.

"There is still that part of me that will always stay, because that is who I really am," saad ni Victor.
