Jillian Ward celebrates 7th birthday at charity event with DSWD children

Kapuso child star Jillian Ward shared her blessings by giving gifts to the children at DSWD on her birthday.

Kapuso child star Jillian Ward spent her 7th birthday with kids at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Center for Children in Quezon City.

The lead star of the now-defunct Daldalita invited PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) to join her celebration as she prepared some food and a lot of giveaways for the less-fortunate children.

When asked why she wanted to spend her birthday at the DSWD, she innocently said, "Kasi gusto ko po silang maging masaya lalo."

Her mom, Jeniffer Ward, revealed to PEP that the last time Jillian went to DSWD for a taping, the kids really wanted to see her but were not allowed since the shoot was going on.

"Opo. Kaya alam na po ng daddy ko kung saan yung DSWD and sabi ko po, dito na lang po ako magbi-birthday," Jillian said about having taped there before.

Mommy Jenny also said that some of the kids cried as they really wanted to take a glimpse of the child star they admired.

So Jillian promised the kids she will be spending her birthday at the institute.

BIRTHDAY WISH. Whenever members of the press would ask Jillian what her birthday wish or wishes are, she was very consistent with her answer:

"Birthday wish ko po parating masaya, good health, at saka happy family."

About the birthday gift she has received that day, Jillian proudly showed them to the press people.

She even said, "Lahat po matatanggap ko, lahat ng ibibigay nila kasi hindi naman po ako choosy."

When it comes to the material gift she wanted to receive, she said, "Gusto ko po yung car-car.

"Yung car-car po, yung car, yung sasakay ako, ’tapos ako yung magda-drive," Jillian was referring to a ride-on toy car.

Not to forget to share her blessings, she gave gifts to the children of DSWD.

SCHOOLING. The seven-year-old child star is an incoming grade one student next school year.

Mommy Jenny told PEP that Jillian’s teacher applauded the child wonder for her reading ability, considering that she couldn’t go to school every day.

She even showed us a video of Jillian reading a bedtime story wearing eyeglasses. Jillian reads faster with it as her vision is not clear anymore.

On her favorite subject, Jillian shared, "Math po. Kaya lang mahirap yung Math, e."

And her dream when she grows up?

"At saka gusto ko po paglaki ko maging doctor.

"Para kahit wala po silang pera, puwede ko po sila magamot," the little girl said referring to the less fortunate.

If she decides to become a doctor, what will happen to her showbiz career?

"Okay lang po yun. Basta po matulungan yung mga tao," was her reply.

Needless to say, Jillian still has a lot of time to think about her career path.

Her next project with GMA-7 is set for April. In what series does she want to belong this time?

"Kahit ano po. Drama, kahit action, [kahit] comedy po."

SISTERS. Jillian is the middle child among three siblings. She cheerfully related how she teaches and plays with her baby sister Janelle all the time and that they look alike.

What if her baby sister would want to join showbiz someday?

"E, di paglaki niya po, pag-aartistahin ko po siya.

"Pati po yung ate ko, papayagan ko."

Her older sister, Jermaine, who is 10 years old, is also very pretty but acts reserved unlike the outgoing Jillian.

Their Mommy Jenny is also planning to get her into showbiz soon.

Asked about the actors she admires and would like to emulate, Jillian mentioned, "Sina Daddy Ogie po, Tita Regine, sina Mommy Lovi, Ate Solenn," who are all very close to her.
