The indie films once again ruled the 35th Gawad Urian by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
Claiming the largest chunk of the pie is Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa which took home seven awards, including Best Picture.
This Cinemalaya 2011 entry also won Best Director for Alvin Yapan and acting nods for two of its lead stars—Paulo Avelino (Best Actor) and Jean Garcia (Best Supporting Actress).
Star Magic artist Maja Salvador won Best Actress for her performance in Thelma.
Art Acuña bagged the Best Supporting Actor trophy for Niño.
Cinematographer Rody Lacap is the recipient of the Natatanging Gawad Urian this year. He is the director of photography for films such as Oro Plata Mata, Kisapmata, Sister Stella L, and Muro Ami.
The awards night was hosted by Angel Aquino, Zoren Legaspi, Venus Raj, and Manunuri member Butch Francisco.
