“I feel so happy and I’m just overwhelmed with all the prizes and everything,” aniya.
“Yeah, medyo busy kami with all the charity visits, public visits, and guestings.
“Medyo we’re not used to it, but we’re getting used to it—the public attention,” sabi ni Miss World Philippines Third Princess April Love Jordan.
“Aside from it’s overwhelming, siyempre super busy ko din with all the trainings.
“Wala na ngang time to like have a ‘me’ time. As in super busy with all the schedules,” dagdag pa ni Queenierich.
TRAINING FOR MISS WORLD.
“I’m doing the multimedia training for the Facebook thing, for what they call the Multimedia Award in China.
“And, of course, I’m also doing the makeup training and personality development training,” saad ni Queenierich.
“Even with the little amount of time that I have, sana magawa ko ang lahat at sana talaga magawa ko lahat ng best ko [sa pageant].”
SUPPORTIVE PRINCESSES.
“Siyempre pinagpe-pray ko siya always kasi it’s gonna be a tough job for her following the footsteps of Gwen [Ruais] as the First Princess.
“But knowing Queenie and with the support that we’re giving her, I know that she can make it.
“Who knows, she’ll make it in history as the first Filipina Miss World?”
“For me, personally, I’m always there for her. We always go to the gym together and then sometimes we also train for Q&A.
“We also do a lot of catwalk training together so other than that, personally, I also pray for her.
“Iyon talaga [ang kailangan niya]—a lot prayers and hard work.
“Siyempre iyon naman talaga iyong kailangan niyang gawin. God paves the way for her and she just does the work so iyon lang talaga.”
NO RIVALRY. Ayon din kay Mary Anne, wala umano siyang nararamdaman na panghihinayang kahit na First Princess lamang ang naabot niyang titulo sa Miss World Philippines.
“At that time [coronation night] I was blanked out talaga.
“I was surprised that I was part of the last two women standing and what I felt that time, I was like closing my hands and holding [Queenierich’s] hand.
“I held her hand and I was praying to God na sabi ko, ‘Whatever happens, whatever decision you make or the judges make,’ sabi ko ‘It’s gonna be okay.’
“Kasi Queenie has been my friend since we were ten [years old] and before we joined Miss World, it’s like this has been one of our dreams since we were kids.
“Para sa’kin, it was already an accomplishment na kaming dalawa iyong last two women standing noong coronation, so it felt good.”
“A great responsibility is given to her and I know that she can do it.”
STILL OVERWHELMED.
“I didn’t know talaga that I was gonna win it.
“Actually, I thought that [Mary Anne] was gonna win.
“But no’ng tinawag iyong name niya as first runner up, super talagang nagulat ako because I didn’t expect it.
“Same with all the special awards, ’tapos ito na I’m the new Miss World [Philippines], super nakaka-overwhelm so sa stage as in parang shocked lang talaga ako.”
GRATEFUL FOR SUPPORT.
Ayon kay Mary Anne, “The feeling was it actually helped us kasi when you’re on stage and you know that there’s a lot of people supporting you, especially if you see them—your family. your friends—on stage it makes you feel like you wanna give it your best.
“And when you walk, you start to feel like you’re the most beautiful woman especially [in the eyes of] the supporters.
“So, it’s very overwhelming at the same time you feel the love and support coming from the audience. It feels good.”
Kuwento naman ni April Love, "Ako naman I’ve been joining pageants since I was in high school, so my family and friends have been always there to support me.
“The thing with Miss World is when I joined, my mom kasi she was always the stage mother, but this time I told her na, ‘Just chill, Mom. I can do this.’
“I’ve been in different pageants na. So this time, ’Be the audience and just relax,’ sabi ko sa kanya.
“And then she did, kaso she can’t help it so pagdating ng coronation night, she‘s the one talaga who shouted and cheered for me the loudest.”
“They just have to believe in me na I will do my best for them, for the country, for everyone. I will really do my best,” saad niya.
