Movie and theater actress Monique Wilson reveals she’s gay

“Being a gay woman is something that I should be proud of being,” pahayag ng movie at theater actress na si Monique Wilson.

Monique Wilson has finally come out.

"For all these years, I thank so many people, especially from the press, who respect me for what I am,” ani Monique.

"I know that many of you know who I am, but the respect you gave is so overwhelming.

"I know that is something that I should be proud of.

“Being a gay woman is something that I should be proud of being."

WHY JUST NOW?

I just kept quiet about it kasi nga I am here for my art and not because of my being gay.

May kinakatakutan pa ba ako ngayon?

"This is the right time, I think, that I have to be public about it.

"Para matapos na ang mga speculations.

"I know that everyone will still respect me for who I really am and what I have contributed to so many people through my helping in different causes, like ito ngang One Billion Rising."

Ini-encourage ba ni Monique na mag-out na rin ang ibang nagtatago or nahihiya na sila ay gay?

"It’s not about lang being gay but what have you done by being gay.

"If being gay can help a community or encourage people to stand up and fight, then it’s ok.

"Be out and proud about it.

"There’s nothing to be afraid of anymore," pagtatapos pa ni Monique Wilson.
