Diane Ventura maintains friendship with ex-husband Ely Buendia; ventures into filmmaking

“No, I think we’ve been working together for so long that we really kind of separated work from personal,” sabi ni Diane.

“We handle things professionally. When it’s about work, it’s about work.

“We mean business, so we are able to perform well because we conduct ourselves very well and we have good business ethics.”

“Whatever he does, I support him. Wherever he’s happy.”

“I’m currently producing Eraserheads shows for this year. World tour siya pero not in the Philippines.”

HIGHLY-ACCLAIMED SHORT FILM.

Sabi ni Diane, “Super grateful and I feel lucky at saka humbled din.

“At the same time na, alam mo yun, to be around those such talented and smart people, kasi I was also with other directors and writers as well.

“To be in that arena was something new to me and in the international scene pa.

“And to think na I’m representing our country, parang sobrang honored talaga ako.”

Gaano katagal niya ginawa ang short film na The Rapits?

“It took me a day to shoot it and two days to write it.”

CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC.

“Kasi it’s a sensitive topic and I kinda wanted to explore it.

“It happened because I was having a random conversation with a friend about how rape was one of the hardest crime to prove.

“That concept started from there and I just decided to develop it.”

Paliwanag nga ni Diane, “I didn’t want it to be controversial in terms of physical nudity.

“Parang I wanted people to concentrate more on the content. I didn’t want them to be distracted by the gratuity of being naked.”

Pero mariin itong pinabulaanan ni Diane, “I understand how this movie could be misconstrued as condoning the vile act of rape.

"But in this film, I’m not talking about the jump out of the bushes assault of a helpless victim.

“I’m talking about certain situations wherein a girl actually has the power and capability to get herself out of a possibly precarious situation where she feels uncomfortable and unsettled.

“It’s about female empowerment and not allowing to be put in situations that they do not want to be in or get themselves to a position where their decision-making capabilities are vitiated.”

Sabi ni Diane, “I sent her the script and then she was the one who said na, ‘I want to be a part of it.’”

She was very humble din.”

First and only choice din daw si Cherie for the role ng psychiatrist na later on ay mari-reveal na may sakit pa lang schizophrenia.

“I said na, if she will not be on board this film’s not gonna be made.

VENTURING TO FULL-LENGTH FILMS.

“Actually, may concept na ako for my first full-length.

“I’ll probably embarked on it maybe a year from now. I still need to develop patience and a little bit more experience.”

“It’s not about the money for me, this is a passion. So, the creative freedom for me is the priceless thing.”
