Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago: "Senate is the land of the living dead... Wearing a suit, yet already dead."

"Senate is the land of the living dead... Wearing a suit, yet already dead.”

TIRADES AGAINST ENRILE.

Aniya, “Kung senador nga, Pasko and Christmas bonuses galing sa taong bayan.

Hinamon pa ng senadora ang senador sa isang debate o laban, “Just say the time and the venue... Or let us just go boxing.”

This is Jane from the Office of the Senate President. I’m sorry but the Senate President declined to give a reaction on the article your mentioned. He had previously issued statements and explanation with regard to the use of MOOE in the Senate."

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT.

Aniya, nagkaroon na ang ating bansa ng babaeng pangulo at chief justice, “but Congress has never had a female Senate President or a female Speaker.”

Dagdag pa ng senadora, “That is because so far, the greater majority in both chambers of Congress has always been men.

“Possibly, this is one reason why there is so much corruption in Congress.”

Kaya naman pagbibigay-diin niya, “Women should have an equal opportunity to serve as party officials and to be nominated as candidates for election.”
