Jed Madela on becoming a WCOPA Hall of Famer: “Sobra akong na-goosebumps!”

“Siguro sa mga pinagdaanan ko in performing, kahit papaano alam ko na ‘yong tricks of the trade on how to perform, how to be on stage, how to prepare for a performance. Siguro nandoon na ako sa ganung level,” says Jed Madela about his future plans as a music artist.

World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

“At the same time, masaya ako kasi parang naukit na ‘yong pangalan ko.

“It’s a big thing not just for me but also for the World Championships.”

Kwento pa niya, “Tinanong ko how I was chosen. Sabi nila, ‘We chose people who excel in their chosen field and who have contributed to the industry.’

“So, not necessarily sikat ka or kilala ka sa buong mundo.

“They based it on my achievements here sa Pilipinas.”

“You know, I’ve been going back and forth din sa U.S., joining the world championship to judge and to look for new talents.

“Siguro naging big deal sa kanila [yung pagsali ko] kasi it’s one of the first times hinakot lahat.

Siguro it’s a plus thing din for them to conduct me in the Hall of Fame.”

NO MORE CONTESTS FOR JED.

“For me siguro, parang I think I’m done with contests already.

“It’s more of me moving on to the next level of me being the person behind these competitions—I can be a judge, a mentor or a consultant.

“Siguro sa mga pinagdaanan ko in performing, kahit papaano alam ko na ‘yong tricks of the trade on how to perform, how to be on stage, how to prepare for a performance.

“Personally, for me, I experienced how it feels to be on stage noong 2005.

“‘I-enjoy n’yo. Savor the moment.’

“Pero when you’re in that moment, it’s nerve-wracking.”

NEW ALBUM.

Dagdag pa niya, “You know, it was also my management’s decision to streamline my career.

“Kasi, I’m always with ABS-CBN, I’m a Kapamilya, and they always use my voice sa mga teleserye and sa movie theme songs.

“With me going to Star Records, it’s going to be easy for [my songs] to get into teleseryes, lahat ABS-CBN na.”

“Hinahanap ko talaga ang original song for me,” ani Jed.

“So, with Star Records, they gave me this project, a very risky project.

“It’s all originals, never heard by anybody. So, noong lumabas ang album, it was a gamble.”

I’m very happy with the response ng tao sa album, two weeks pa lang siya and it’s doing very well.”

Wala pang pormal na launch ang All Original kung di ang pag-anunsiyo tungkol dito sa ASAP at It’s Showtime. Pero sa less than one month na pagkaka-release nito, ani Jed, “I’m very happy with the response ng tao sa album, two weeks pa lang siya and it’s doing very well.”
