Today, May 13, local celebrities exercise their right to vote, and post their photos on social networking sites like Instagram and Twitter.
Ina Kapatid Anak star Kim Chiu on her Instagram account (chinitaprincess) puts out her photos while voting, and after her index finger got marked with indelible ink.
On the caption she says, “I just did my part as a citizen! The pcos machine (Miriam) is not working but I hope my vote counts. VOTE WISELY!”
Kim’s co-actor Enchong Dee also posts a photo collage on his Instagram account (superchonggo). One of the pictures shows a statement shirt that read: “Boto Ko, Dangal Ko, Ipagtatanggol ko!”
Niw here’s the message of Enchong’: “I pray that for the people I voted for would bring us to a common goal of being globally competitive… We can! If selfless politicians would be elected. ‘If you don’t vote then you don’t have the right to complain.’”
TV personality Ramon Bautista tells his followers on Instagram (RAMONBAUTISTA), “Wag mawalan ng gana at isiping ‘sino kaya sa mga hunghang na ito ang gusto kong magnakaw sa atin?’ May pag-asa pa tayo kung mag-iisip. Wag maging bobotante, go out and #votesmart.”
Meanwhile, the daughter of former Vice President Noli de Castor, Kat de Castro, has somethig to say on Twitter (@KatDeCastro) about the long lines.
“Sa nagrereklamo na mahaba ang pila sa eleksyon, kaw naman. Kung kaya mo nga hintayin si Soulmate ng ilang buwan, a few hours is tolerable,” she posts.
Like most celebrities, Valerie Concepcion (@V_concepcion), encourages the Filipinos to “vote wisely.”
On her way to the voting precinct, she tweets, "This is it! Will now go to the precinct to vote. Lord, please guide me n asana tama po ang mga iboboto ko. VOTE WISELY guys!”
TV host-actress Iza Calzado, on the the other hand, post her wish on Twitter (@MissIzaCalzado): “VOTE. Just exercised my right to vote. Wishing for an honest and peaceful elections. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!!!!”
